Well this thread has been blown out of all proportion. I am sorry I asked the bloody question now. I will keep me gob shut in future. The title of the thread was something like "who knows his tyres"..It was not meant to be a discusion on riding techniques etc etc.

@B1irde.....

your comment..If after all that you are not up to speed, I will help you free of charge.
You see this is the real problem at the root level isnt it? Depends what you, I or anyone else calls up to speed. Whilst I acept all the advice given by all. My main gripe was that I dont have the same confidence in the bike in the wet/damp as I have in the dry. Is this normal? I dont know. Would one expect to lean over the same amount as you can/do in the dry. Would one expect perfect grip in the wet/damp? I don't know. The bike just doesnt give me the confidence to ride the same as in the dry.

My comments of this thread getting personal were not at me but others having a go at each other. Just out of interest I hold an IAM cert for a cage so I am not a total noob.

Anyway like I said in future I will keep me gob shut.

Thanks for all the advice. I will bear it in mind.

My reference to being up to speed is as follows, you go to either CSS or to Lincolnshire Roadcraft and still lack confidence in your bike, or your own skill level and would like help, then my offer stands as a mind coach (Serious).

DAVE, i think we'll agree to disagree on this..............
There were quite a few occasions en-route to Matlock where i thought you lacked any confidence what so ever.... After fueling up in Stockport you sat on the forecourt entrance waiting until there was no cars in sight until you came out,, nobody is gonna LET you out,, you have to JOIN the traffic (progress) it's not about speed.. I'd hate to see you change your tyres and still not keep up hence the previous comments on the posts.
IAM in the car,, i did it years back + advanced with work + advanced on the bike etc but IAM does'nt make you a perfect driver/rider it's continual advancement and caution and being able to read the road and predict others.
Sorry but i'm not gonna keep stopping in the gutter on the A6 in rush hour to wait for a guy on a 195mph, 160bhp superbike to get off a forecourt and join the traffic!! The chances of being carted off my bike by a 44 ton truck is greatly increased and i'm not gonna put myself in that position.
There was 'NO TRAFFIC' coming from your right and all you had to do was filter into the moving traffic from your left 'sorted'. I drive 40,000 miles a year + and know what i can and cannot get away with. Get to the front of the traffic lights when they are on red then away you go upon the green, NO its not a race but if your gonna sit in traffic you may aswell sell the bike and buy a Harley or a LADA.
Come on a rideout with the group and wedge yourself in the middle, you'll be sorted within the day (i was).

Knob. actually, no - that's insulting knobs. Can't even call you a ladyparts, for the same reason. The offer for the drag run 0-100 is still on - will I have the pleasure or are you such a complete utter wimp that you throw challenges and pussy out when someone agrees to your challenge?

Look here you French poodle, Bert laid down the challenge and his missus told him he can't go, when did you enter in the debate, it's a bloody long drive for a peasant just to see a drag race, is there no drag racing in your fields? :bang:

Ok John that is not really a problem for you. I know the way now and can meet you there. I am not going to say this, that, whatever about not filtering out to the traffic. I dont intend to be a statistic or the subject of RIP post on this forum. If I dont feel it safe to pull out (on a bike or a car) then I wont. Regardless of other peoples opinions., Like I said in previous posts in this thread you are entitled to your opinion. But please respect mine.

Actually, I went out with MickyB999 with the Manhoc group 2 weeks ago and did 257 miles, I was in the middle for most of the day, I don' recall slowing anyone up.

If I am slowing you down then ride on ahead, I have no problem with that.

If I get around to it, I may take you up on that offer, cheers.

I think this thread is just about done now. I know what I have to do. No offence given or taken.

Madhouse, I would look forward to it.

Just need you to be 100% on the technical side of riding.
