Yep.. very questionable.. its an age thing you see Martin
Why not just put me on your reject list mate ? Simples !
Whilst I will not 'get the hump' I will always put myself and business before others.. Sorry if that offends but like I said.. tis an age thing I reckon.
In the meantime I will give my opinion same as anyone else on here.. again, if that offends ..... well gee whiz ! Shame ! :-0)

Fosters.. I see what you mean.
But read what you put and read what I said.
Tie in my words to yours and hopefully that will shed light in a way your explantion did to me !

I can see exactly where you are coming from once you explain, and yes, pretty obvious I bit on the wrong thing, but without that explanation I hope you can see where my rant was coming from

If thats the way ya think, perhaps it's time to step down from BIRD?????

As far as im aware, my sponsorship money goes to bikers oracle, and not Jaws Motorcycles. So be a good lad and back off a bit.

Or, can we all start to tout for business on here?????

This aint an extension / monopoply for your business.

Not a chance Chris, I don't hate anyone so there is no list to be on.

If there was the Bitch Dog from Hell ex would be at the top of the list the slag. Not that I'm bitter of course

From my experience the Talon rear sprocket wear LESS than either the steel OEM or JT. I bought a new one to replace the old when doing the chain swap during the trailing fork change and nearly didn't fit it. There was no discenible wear at all surprisingly afyer 17 000 miles. I gave it to another member and it is still in use now still looking new. Not sure about the Rental composite one though.

Hi mate!
Well to be absolutely honest I have not had first hand experience on Talons on the bird. I rate them high from my motocross years as I do renthals. Renthals however were a very poor experience on the bird. I found them to be very soft and disposable. Maybe talons are better, really do not know:dunno:
I am in the process of looking for a new chain myself, the DID I have on it its almost dead (too long and a few sticky links - its shot). I may get John to make me a kit if possible: oem front sprocket, talon rear sprocket and a DID ZVM2 chain. I need a scotoiler too, as this bird dont have one.
As for the ex, I'm feeling you man... They are all the same, trust me.man8um
Anyways, enough with this, off to have a cheese pie and chill!
Cheerio!

Not at all.

Just fed up with the monoply of only having one parts supplier.

Free speech and all that.

But surely, if the 'parts supplier' in question has the cheapest price, offers fitting and technical advice free of charge, will answer the 'phone at silly hours to help forum members out with problems, will send parts out before receiving payment for them etc. etc. said 'parts supplier' can expect members to recommend him ??

In my opinion there's nowt wrong with a bit of self promotion on the said 'parts suppliers' part either !!!! :-0)

I think you are missing the point. John may have over reacted on this occasion but I think it is important for members of the forum to remember who is available 12hrs a day FREE of charge at the end of the phone when they have a problem. Remember who will bend over backwards to help out fellow bikers when they can. How many testimonials are there to the guy in this site. The likes of you and Bert have been on here at lot longer than I have so maybe there is some history I am missing but...

Those who have been around a while and benefited from this FREE advice should advise newer members of the FREE expertise that is available to them and how they can support that facility simply by buying from JAWS when they can. Alternatives are fine but coming on here and pointing someone in the direction of David Silver spares is not pointing out alternatives. Suggesting JAWS or David Silver however would be but thats NOT what happened here.

What a tragedy it would be if JAWS business went south because everybody came on here telling members to buy from David Silver, Busters, M & P etc then we'd be relying on Honda dealers for advice!

I'm not saying don't mention options, just that if you do at least have the decency to mention JAWS as well and don't take it for granted that everyone know to look at his site.

Totally disagree.

John's business has gone from strength to strength off the back of this forum.

I have no problem with that at all. I do have a problem when, as I have allready stated, other members are given a hard time when offering alternatives.

Tell ya what, shall we get into the commercial posting guidlines laid down by Bikers Oracle?????

I'm not sure I agree that
Genuine Honda one is a good chain. Check out www.davidsilverspares.co.uk they are doing Honda OEM chain and front and rear sprockets for ?115 which is excellent. I wouldn't even both looking at others if I was after replacement.
is offering an alternative but is actually being quite specific by not mentioning JAWS at all, probably unintentional but still the case, IMO.

Especially as John supplies the same product at a competitive price which would actually be in the original posters interests.

Tell ya what, shall we get into the commercial posting guidlines laid down by Bikers Oracle????? As I said you have been around a lot longer than me and I'm not looking to get into that level of detail.

This is not a dig at anyone or an excuse to argue the toss it is interesting to hear other peoples views and opinions. fl4g71

As Mac has pointed out Martin.....B.I.R.D. is hosted through the B.O. server's but stands alone as a club/forum. The commercial posting guidelines that the rest of B.O. must adhere to don't come into play here.

As far as I'm aware John is the boss/owner of B.I.R.D. :-0)

Interesting.

So who gets my super sponsor money?? B.O. or Jaws????

Perhaps it is time that a set of accounts, was published for members so that we may see where the sponsorship money goes.

We've totally hijacked this thread now :-0) but don't our subs go to BO for the webspace, maintenance and the forum software etc?? It is just my assumption not based on anything factual.

I thought this was a PUBLIC forum! or am I wrong on that!!

Tell you what. If someone posts a question, "what do you think of Avon tyres?" or " what is best tyre?" shall I reply " Fcuk it mate, see what Jaws sells and buy that"!!!!!!!!!!! get real.

Have a read back what Jaws replied to the thread, he was the first to reply that OEM chains with an oiler are good....

OEM has two meanings, look it up if you don't believe me.

1) The manufactures OEM part ( maybe made by DID and packaged by Honda)

2) DID for example package the part as original supplied to Honda but under DID packaging. Still OEM

Jaws said the OEM chain is good, ie Honda but he must have meant DID he sold. He didn't say that he sold the chains and could supply them etc.

I agreed and said the OEM Honda one is a good chain etc and I wouldn't look at others ( ie renthal etc )

Jeez!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
