The OEM one on a bike fitted with an oiler seems to average 25000 to 30000 miles.
The OEM one is DID ..Soooooooooooooooo :p

Hello.
Honda indeed used DID on about 80% of the birds from factory, the rest being fitted with RK chains.
DID seems to be the best replacement, however DID do 3 different qualities of chain on the 530 type of chain used on the bird.
With the imense power of the bird only the best quality chain is recommended for your bike. This was the ZVM series as used on the factory set up, which has now been superseeded by the ZVM2 series. So ZVM2 is the one to go for...
Also remember to go for steel sprocket on the back (oem of JT seem to work best) and if possible for an oem front sprocket, as it comes with a rubber ring that helps cut down the noise on gear changes cluncking a lot.
And as Jaws has pointed out get the scotoiler. It WILL at least double your chains life!
Hope this helps.
Cheers,
Chris

Genuine Honda one is a good chain. Check out www.davidsilverspares.co.uk they are doing Honda OEM chain and front and rear sprockets for ?115 which is excellent. I wouldn't even both looking at others if I was after replacement.

chain & sprockets

I'm with fosters. Got mine from DS for 115 quid. Excellent deal. Comes with OEM cushioned front and steel rear (88 quid just for the rear if bought seperate!). The DID chain requires the DID chain tool.

Come on then Chris, why? I've been using a hard anodised Talon (which wears less than the OEM steels) so please let me know where I have been going wrong?

Nothing wrong with that mate!
bl4hbl4h---->Just that steel ones will last a bit longer than aluminium ones. I know, I know all aluminium ones are not the same, there's qualities about but the same goes for steels too. Say you compare two top quality ones, the steel would last longer and cost a bit less too.
Just my experience man.bl4hbl4h

Can I get on your hate list now please?

Thank you.

yer right.. Might be handy if you mention the VAT on top of that and the delivery which is FAR from cheap from them.. Total chain and sprocket kit from them is ?142.00.. So basically a bloody outright lie then
Or just a convenient forgetting of the truth ????

My kits ( OEM DID and JT sprockets ) are ?120 inc everything

And an OEM sprocket ?80 ?????????????????????????

Dream on mate...

And need a special DID tool ??? Who the feckin hell are you kidding ??

Total and absolute complete bollocks of the first order.

I am in business yes, and defending my business yes, but posting misleading info is a shite thing to do.. Perhaps I have pissed you off in some way ? If so say so,,,,, do not try and fuck up my business cos that is just an arsehole thing to do.

Oh and of course I am sure you can fone them up at 20 past 8 on a saturday night for help when you get stuck now cant you..... well cant you ??
So to sum up, they are dearer than me and offer no technical back up nor help in any way..

Sounds like a good deal to me ... not

I support Jaws and bought a DiD kit from him, also a set of Cush Drive Rubbers, as the wheel was off, thought was, might as well check and sure enough replaced worn and broken cush's.

If you find a good supplier stick by em, and satisfaction is gaurenteed.

JAWS ( John)

In that public flogging you make it sound like it is ME that has said all that and I merely said the quoted but about David Silvers and NOTHING else

I have bought several things from you and asked you many a question!!! and am not out to hurt your business!!

Someone reading your post and not bothering to read all the others before will think it is ME that has slagged you off!! and to be fair, the person that did make those comments didn't come across to me like that.

You were one of the first to reply to the thread and you said and I quote

"The OEM one on a bike fitted with an oiler seems to average 25000 to 30000 miles.
The OEM one is DID ..Soooooooooooooooo :p "

I merely stated the same and I get slated for it, how does that work!!!

Now I am off to read my new copy of David Silvers Bird members discount catolog, got some great bargains for us!!!!!!!! NOW THAT WAS A JOKE:-0):-0):-0):-0):-0):-0)

Hmmmm, so I take it that every time a forum member posts up an alternative parts supplier, your gonna get the hump?????

From what I read of the guys post, he was offering an alternative.

From what I have seen of late John, your business and forum judgment are at best questionable.

Every one on here knows, you offer a good service. But please take a step back, cos imho you are making your position on here a monopoly.

Just my thoughtsw;;v
