While we were in Benidorm last week, we went to a cabaret night at a bar called steptoes. there was a scouse comedian, and he was making jokes about all religions, colours, nationalities, etc at the end of his act he said "tonight I have poked fun at just about everybody, but in all seriousnous I think that on new years eve we should all get together regardless of religion, and join hands, catholics, prodestants, jews,greek orthodox, all get together..... and kick the shit out of the P*ki's", when he told this joke most of the audience laughed, on a similar note about a year ago my wife and I went to a cabaret night in Leeds, and a Geordie comedian came out with a similar joke, only a few people gave a nervous sort of laugh, does that tell us that these types of jokes are wrong, or that they are only wrong in this country.

My eldest daughter worked as a receptionist for six months for an asian firm in Batley, they sacked her because most of their customers were asian and my daughter could not speak urdu. she went to citizens advice and was told that this firm were well known for employing young ladies for six months and then sacking them but there was nothing anyone could do as under employment law the first six months is classed as a settling in period. I would like to see what would happen if a british employer did the same with asian employees.

Absolutely nothing mate the firm I work for does exactly the same thing and because they sack staff of all races at the end of the "probationary period" not a thing can be done as there is no descrimination, just rampant exploitation.
