Broke my 'in lockdown I will be up, showered, shaved and dressed for the day by 8am' rule by sleeping until 8.20am.

Forgot we were having a cooked breakfast this morning and had porridge.

Decided to have the fry up for lunch, landscape contractor called asking for s quick site meeting to knock that on the head so we are now having the fry up for dinner.

Went to the garden centre

Yet more work on the Norton, this lockdown is costing me money! More bling. Hopefully I’m now blinged out. Although I will get the fueltank and side panels painted in the Autumn.

stainless rocker plates and bolts
Stainless rocker cover sleeve nuts

my mate at a local well known major manufacturer made up some stainless braided oil feed pipes in place of the black plastic originals. They’re not a stock line as they use 5/16” BSF banjo bolts that I had to find elsewhere online, but it uses standard size 10mm brake hose. They look proper bling and functional.

Tore the ratty BWizz lump down.. And found out it is NOT a BWizz engine !
Looks the same externally and is pretty much the same internally, but the crankshaft seals are def. different
Was putting in the order when I noticed the measurements are different ...
Fortunately the bearings were the same

Sat in the garden with my mum for a couple of hours at her place.

Good to know she hasn't lost the ability to talk about nothing in particular:D

5F0E37B0-879A-41B9-91C1-74122C9D320F.jpeg I went for a proper long ride on the Norton. It ran really well for an old clunker, get it over 2000rpm and it gets it goes all smooth, isolastics working as they should.

then cruising along at 4000rpm/70mph it was quite lovely. But when I opened the throttle further it started to stutter and I wasn’t able to drive through it. I’m not sure if it’s a misfire or fuel. So, there’s a couple of things I need to look at first of all, I’ve got odd HT caps on as I broke a resisted one and the replacement only arrived in today’s post. Maybe one resisted and one normal isn’t good? Then , although the plugs are new perhaps one is breaking down under compression? I’ll fit a pair of new ones. The carbs are new, the fuel hoses new, the fuel taps new, HT leads are new, coils are old but swopping them may not prove anything.

good, something more to do during lockdown.

a picture of the new plugs after 80 miles,

4k revs is the absolute classic coil breakdown indicator..
Rarely happens nowadays but back in the day a misfire at 4k always lead to a coil change

I have someone I can borrow a couple of coils from, they’re 6volt, and one of mine has a slightly crimped casing from the clamp being tightened up too much.

Buggered off to Hoyland near Barnsley to view a bike, but sadly in the car.
M60, M67, Mottram, Tintwistle, o'er tops to Langsett, past stocksbridge, Deepcar, Tankersley and finally Hoyland.
Even passed a sign that read 'Wigtwizzle'. 1 Hour 30 mins approx..motorways nice and calm.
