This morning before it got too warm I walked miss Molly over to the playing fields so she could have a run. Then we walked home, according to my iPhone app it was 1954 steps and included 4 flights of steps going across the road bridge. I’m impressed as a week ago I could barely manage 25 metres without feeling faint. A minor milestone to some but it’s a great achievement for me.

I’m feeling great right now, it’s like a second chance. My leg has healed nicely (ankle’s still sore :sisi1 ) and my incision is healed, just needs to be oiled up (bio oil ) and hide the scarring.

Golf. Not happy as a persistent slice has crept in off the tee, everything else pretty good but overall a struggle when you can’t hit fairways and the rough is high. Eagle three on the 18th courtesy of a rare straight drive, 3 wood just short right and chipped in. Nice way to finish, especially as there were quite a few spectators enjoying breakfast in the clubhouse overlooking the green.

Sat in the car while Mrs B went into the supermarket.

Went round to see mum and had nice cup of coffee and a Belgian bun.

Went to b&q for some plaster (that’s gone up a LOT) then Screwfix for Gorilla Glue, flux and inhibitor.

Can’t believe my tin of flux has almost run out, only lasted 41 years.

Since my last confession
Mowed the lawn
Modified a table I made ages ago in the hope it will sell this time (times are hard)
Made a couple of clocks
Helped the bloke next door move 20 odd fence panels around the back before the local scum have them away
listed all the stuff I made on facebook
Sold the lamp to a lovely lady
Thought long and hard about stripping and repairing my mates hw77 but couldn't be bothered today

Cut the grass.

when we moved in six years ago it was like weeataiX, flipping stuff won’t stop growing now. Bit of levelling and seeding in the autumn and I reckon we will have cracked it.

What is it with men and lawns?

On the way home popped into Currys and got a refund of £220 on our new washer dryer.

Praise the Lord for the Currys price march offer.

Today while perusing I found that AO had the same machine available cheaper, although with a three week delivery wait.

Although the machine had already been delivered by this time you can claim the price match deal up to seven days after purchase.

Currys spent a fair while double checking the details, even went so far as processing an order with AO up to the point of payment to check it was actually available for sale today.

They couldn't recall having to pay back so much on a price match promise.

Once they decided the AO price was kosher they completed the paperwork and processed the refund :)

When I arrived home and announced proudly my achievement, instead of rapturous applause I got "oh good that'll cover half the cost of that nice Bosch dishwasher they have".

As I started to protest the ace card was played "Miele are quite good too".

Where do they learn to negotiate like this :(

I'm doomed!!

Final fit of oak window cills. Being a bit pedantic about such things spent an hour and a half shimming them before securing (for ever) with Gorilla Glue. Not for the first time the curling stones have proved useful as dead weight to keep everything in place while the glue does it’s stuff.

i am sure if Time Team had been here they would have been mesmerised by the bits and pieces that the house builders lobbed down the cavity walls ‘oooh look there is a 1960s bent nail, I wonder what the story is behind that’, ‘cor, look at those discarded off cuts of timber, you can still see the saw marks, that tells a story’

i just think ‘lazy messy bastards’.

Sorry to hear that.

Not the best time to be positive in this scorching heat.
