Had a lie in this morning, knackered after my early start yesterday and long run to and from the Garden of England.

Mrs got a call from neighbours across the road. Couple in their 80's, husband had fallen over in the conservatory whilst taking rubbish out to the bin.
Second time me and my lad have had to
go and pick him off the floor.
His wife is in bits because she is helpless
regarding lifting him up. He is stubborn
and tries to totter about when she is distracted.
Told her to ring us no matter what time it is.
I can see him residing in a care home next year.

Had similar with the old dear who lived alone next door to me a few years ago, I went to bed late on only to hear this strange moaning from next door, grabbed my phone, went round and shouted through the letterbox, it turns out she has fallen at the top of the stairs and broken her hip, while everyone else who I had woken up yelling were doing the headless chicken thing, I jumped the back gate and kicked the back door in then phoned 999 and made her as comfy as possible until the ambulance arrived

Well...My last day at work, 12 years and 6 months service. Only 2 people said a genuine goodbye and one of those was my colleague for 3 years. No MDT thanks or kiss my arse, no card or hand shakes from any of the management team. Not even my RFM has been in touch to say goodbye, even though she leached off all my experience whilst she was my immediate manager for a year.
My college also leaves on the 31st, so they will have no one to do any remedial works or testing in the new year.
I can't see my colleague getting any better treatment either.
What a bunch of unprofessional wibbles
CQC will get a phone call in the new year.
I'm going to inform them of the MDT and
their systematic care free attitude regarding staff and it's service users.

I have always said it was just a huge cash cow for the owner. I am relieved that it's over.
I've told my colleague to wipe off ALL
info on the white boards in the office regarding estates site ops and any outstanding remedial works + contact numbers, key audits etc..
Wipe the fookin lot, see how they cope in the new year.

I hope they get closed down.

I had the same here a while back with slightly unexpected consequences….a lovely elderly lady fell on the pavement just down the road from us, as ever lots of people standing round doing nothing…after all the normal checks I went home, got our collapsible wheelchair out, picked her up and carted her home.

The unexpected consequence is that every bugger in the street now knows we have a wheelchair…the doorbell has gone more than once asking to borrow it

On a more serious note, if anyone has elderly relatives a collapsible wheelchair is a good investment, particularly at the moment when it is more difficult than normal to get an ambulance out. I had to get my mum to hospital a couple of years ago when there was going to be a long wait for an ambulance and would have found it extremely difficult without the wheelchair. Our second hand one was £30 from the local Age Concern warehouse
