Nice one, that's a sure fire way to stop them bothering you again (y):meparto:

Got up at 0300, quick shower, load the Panzer and drive over to the Garden of England to collect Christmas turkey and various meat. Met my bestie at the gym and hammered our shoulders. Drove back home.

Been to Shrewsbury today to finish off some Christmas shopping.

Interestingly, there's usually a chap sat on a blanket on the footbridge between the Riverside car park and the town centre.

Today there was just his blanket, sleeping bag and collection box (with coins).

Less than a quid?

For less than seventeen and six today i bought a 28lb turkey, a case of champagne and a Stollen and still had enough for the bus fare home, including stopping for a fish supper on the way.
I used to be able to do that but then they installed cctv

I see that all the time around here, they sit and collect then when there is enough cash nip into the offie or off somewhere to score then come back later and see what has been left, there is usually more food and coffee's than money on show buts that is because they pocket the majority in case it looks like they are doing well out of the game

I often see the same guys away from their pitch with mobile phones worth more than my car and i know for a fact one of them has a flat ..... needless to say I walk on by

I am fine ta mate :jaja-no: if they want to sit there in the freezing cold until they have enough cash for whatever they want that's fine with me as long as they leave me alone (y)

Having said that I may have have accidentally stumbled elbow first into a very aggressive beggar one time in my home town, the bloke was known for intimidating people and I wasn't in a good place at the time, 3 weeks later he stabbed someone and ended up in nick where he passed away while withdrawing from whatever he was on (couldn't happen to a nicer guy)

It is a good idea sometimes to spend a few minutes chatting with the homeless, genuine ones will often tell you their life story, the ones that claim to be ex military are easy, just ask them what force they were in & ask them their number, if they are ex military they will tell you straight away, it’s something you never forget.

We went to Winchester Christmas market a week ago and while walking round the shopping precinct I was accosted by the Big Issue seller, who I'd spoken to last time we were there, pre-Covid.
He remembered me and we had a good old chat about what he'd been up to since then. Turned out he'd bought an old van, converted it to live in and had been wild camping around Scotland during most of last year. Nice guy, originally from Cornwall.

Yup, no problems with our local Big Issue seller, nice chap, gets plenty of support from the community.

Don’t know his story.

Go into Eastbourne or Brighton and there are numerous ‘professional drinkers’ hanging around the town centres. On the whole they don’t seem to bother anyone other than apparently having a desperate need to shout at each other rather than speak. Often wonder what their stories are.

Was the market good? We were supposed to be there last week

Just found a good reason to get out of the house, even if it is to collect lateral flow kits for the mother in law.

And apparently we are in desperate need of goats cheese “if Morrisons isn’t busy”! :risas3:

And I’ll stand corrected….Morrisons was almost empty, no queues at the tills.

Two lumps of goats cheese acquired, along with a couple of pan au raisins accidentally bought as well.
