One of my pet hates is visible cables. I tend to shout at the tv when self builders show the cameras round their otherwise beautiful house and a tv is slapped on the wall with cables dangling down to a Sky box.

And pipes.
Last house had pipes around 3 walls in a small bedroom. Eventually sorted it.

My brother bought a very expensive new build property in Leeds, it had a vent in the middle of the wall directly above the gas fire, I asked what it was four & he said it was because the property had triple glazing so building regs insisted on vents.

Yarp..Not much you can do, unless you fancy chasing in or have conduit slapped on everywhere.

Doesn't make much sense.
More like that windows are air tight.

I'm finding it all very confusing.
We had bye-laws that required vents in rooms. Now, as far as can see buildings supposed be air tight. They do tests to check it.

I've lost touch with current building regs.

When I moved I put in a solid fuel stove and they put a vent in the wall and and an alarm in the room.

Applying a bit of foresight in a new build to hide cables is detail worth pursuing in my humble view. Also see many where there is nowhere to sensibly put a tv - whether people want to admit it or not, it is an essential piece of furniture.

My current residential property had central heating with surface mounted pipes running all over the place, a lot of work and they are all out of sight now.

Maybe i am paranoid:sisi3:

My Eldest daughter works for a company called stroma, they test buildings & give them an energy efficiency rating, if a building is airtight you could not survive in it with all windows & doors shut, a couple of years back on a television programme (that one about building your own property presented by Kevin McCloud I think) a couple failed their energy efficiency test as there wasn’t enough air circulating

Air tight in this context air tight is a relative term I think. Heat exchange units were being pushed at one stage, don't know about now, which extracted the heat from outgoing air and used it to heat incoming air. It wasn't air conditioning just ventilation.
I know a house that has a unit. Heating costs are very low. It was a new build well insulated, about 25 years ago.

It was built without insulation in the cavity wall and pumped with fibre afterwards.
As it happens he's doing a review of all this at present.

Heat recovery/ Recirculation systems are pretty standard in new builds of any quality these days, allowing extremely high levels of ‘air tightness’ which gives a very efficient home, draught free but fresh air bring constantly circulated. Not overly expensive now, the retrofit market is quite lively.

I have my own version - warm air being pumped via ducting from the airing cupboard to the main bathroom:sisi3:. If we planned on staying here long term I would certainly think seriously about installing heat recovery, relatively straightforward in a bungalow.

Finished the Commando. I reinstalled the freshly ultrasonicked carburettors with new jets and needles. Spent a little time getting it to idle nicely. Then I went for a spin to see how it all goes, and how well it stops with new brake disc and 6 pot Caliper. Freshly added electric starter works extremely well despite a HD Sportster starter. Billet clutch and belt drive, dragging it all closer to the 21st century  DF23A1CE-84F4-4F88-836F-9E1504C027B8.jpeg50BA24BD-1F88-4106-B4A7-D227D0BC655A.jpeg

That looks really good, I'm impressed.
Doesn't look out of place.

Just one thing, could you take the second picture again, but stand a little more to the right.

I can't quite make out the fuel prices at the petrol station.
