Made a sump/stub pipe support block, for when I need to take the forks out, easier and more secure than a trolley jack. Then, polished fork sliders on bike 2, the red one. Refitted and torqued up. Stripped and polished handlebar knuckles on bike 2 the red one, though these may now end up on bike 1, the other red one. Changed the oil and filter on bike 2, the red one. Interestingly when torqued up one right hand caliper bolt (oe Honda) failed to torqued up correctly, felt like a stripped thread.... The bolt had/was stretching. Replaced that with another oe bolt and all was well.

Checked the valve clearances this afternoon, all in spec after 40000 miles :-0). Valve cover gasket also intact which was my main worry! Tomorrow = reassembly of the whole lot, new linkage bearings, etc, hopefully an afternoon ride too h1d1ng2

Finally finished reassembling everything except the lower fairings, added some electrical farkles :-0). Tweaked the counterbalancers, balanced the carbs, and established that the valve cover gasket may look intact but might have a slow seep - to be monitored over the next few miles. Tonight: clean & polish the lower fairings, ready to put them back on and finally get riding again tomorrow @tu*

Swapped the rear light. A total pain due to the topbox rack and hence feeding the indicator leads through....but happy to complete it's in 45 mins.

Pain in the arse alright, I took the scaffolding off mine at the weekend (stupidly on my own) and nearly scratched the rear panels. What light did you go for? Am thinking of fitting a clear led unit myself.
