****URGENT MESSAGE****((old post))

This message applies to ANYONE who attended the BASH this weekend and had ANY work carried out by the "MOBILE TYRE FITTER"
Please make sure you check ALL the nuts/bolts etc which were touched by this crew.................................I've just returned the last 110 miles by AA as my brake caliper came free 50 miles from the ground and jammed into my front rim!!!!!  . To say i'm angry is an understatement at present.
The front wheel locked solid at walking pace on the A17 and nearly brought the pair of us off!!!
The result of this MASSIVE balls up has caused damage to the pads, calliper and rim and could easily have cost us our lives..

not good news
lets hope it was just yours they fooked up and everyone else is safe and sound
compensation on top of putting the bike right is in order no doubt
could have so easily been dreadfull news
it really does make sence to do as much as you can on your own bike or at least check vital nuts, bolts etc after letting an unknown work on it
glad your home safe

Good News

Been intouch with PAUL who fitted the tyre and he was most apologetic and also fully insured, the bike will hopefully be fully sorted in next few weeks.
Accidents do happen and nobody is fool-proof but we could have been killed today and Emma would ahve left a 6yr old boy...
I've gone cold at the thought of what might have been....... 8ree!
No point in going for compo as money only makes you smile and does not rectify the neglect which caused the event.

Yeh it was me who pipped at ya.........the bike went tits up about 100 yards down the road right next to the TEXACO petrol stn, you would'nt have seen us as we were behind a building off the road.

Emma has'nt been put off in the slightest although she was a little shocked at my long torrent of swear words (non of which i can print)..

fooking big fat hairy bollocks rhino! Glad you and Emma are safe and sound, that it didn't put Emma off, and thanks a zillion for having the thought of calling to let us know about that - I checked my brakes before setting off and they were OK but if they hadn't be you would have possibly saved my life and others too - you don't look it but you can think fast :k - thing is, I wonder which tyres they fitted on the vehicle you came with at the bash - nice blue one, good branding paint job too...

I saw them working with 2 guys on one bike and even on two bikes at the same time. When working on Didi's bike I heard one off them asking the other what bolts allready had been fastened.
Working this way is asking for trouble, they should each have worked on one bike at a time. They clearly knew what they were doing, but could'nt always have known what the other was doing.
I'm glad that you are fairly ok and will warn my friend to check his front wheel.
