You aren't alone - my mother in law's packed up on Tuesday (apparently my problem??!), engineer came out Wednesday and diagnosed the compressor had gone (I told them that when I called it in, always good to have an engineer come out to tell you what you have already told them), engineer reappeared this morning with a new unit, installed it and left with a cheery wave.
All done under guarantee, so nice to get brilliant service for once.
