Welcome Pudie, hope you get it sorted. I know I thought my bird was thirsty when I got it, but sems to fit the mould now. That certainly seems a little Heavy. By the way was that you at the egg run that spoke to me before the off?

Weather is crap today Tank but will take you up on your offer one day. An old friend has a pub in your area..his name is Hassan....wonder if you know him?BIG HARV....i spoke to loadsa people before the off in fact met one of the members of this forum named Paul to pick up some panniers i had bought off him.My bird is the unusual "CANDY MAGENTA" (not pink) colour if that is any help? By the way...i didn't enjoy the run that much this year as we rarely got above 10 mph so it was hard on the old wrists and arms with all the clutch riding. What do you think? :yo:

Hi Pudie

i think we met as i rode in on my black one with Pam on her Honda Shadow just as you and Paul where swapping your panniers.i think Big Harv had arriverd just then as well,

Yes i think Hassan has the pub just outside Frodsham the Netherton Hall, and if i am not mistaken he is in the process of converting an old farm and barns near Mickle Trafford into another pub come restaurant. I dont know him that well but I have been in the Netherton Hall a couple of time with a friend who knows him very well.

If you?re coming through to see him drop a post on here it?s a good spot in the summer but best to sit outside as mainly into food rather than a pub, still big car park for the Bikes.

I will bring some to the bash , even get some pork pies from cowards for you

With all due respect.. i am only using a font as supplied by the forum i.e ariel black and have taken the size up a little to make it a little easier for all mole like longsited people like myself to read as i find the default size and font a little difficult to read. As i understand ..USING CAPITOLS THIS WAY IS REGARDED AS SHOUTING. So please forgive me for trying to make it easier for the older spectacle wearing generation of the forum and may i apologise for the abuse of your healthy young ears. very sorry sir
mmmmmmmm..........but you have read and replied to posts that are in smaller font.

Hi Pudie,

I have a '98 Carb with 36k too and it runs dry at around 175 mls.

I did put diesel in mine a couple of months back!
That must help with consumption...lol

Be interested to know when you get to the bottom of your mpg problem.

just an idea...with your poor eyesight, are you making sure the petrol nozzle is inside the filler neck when you are filling up and you're not pouring petrol over the forecourt? :-0)

Welcome!

Good point NELSON ...i will take extra precautions next time i fill up...you are obviously talking from experience with you having only 1 eye. Getting bike back tomorrow so hopefully i will find out what was wrong. Thanks to you all for your help and merry banter. :yo:

Hope it all works out when you get your bike back.

As for mileage, I get around 150miles before the last bar is flashing (about 5 litres left), so theoretically, 200miles until empty.

Cheers mate,

Neil
