I got one off fleabay it seams flimsy in that the bits sticking out for the rubber gromits bend very easily as do the fins. Also the upper nozzle on the filler neck come off to the side instead of straight back. Having said that, it came very well packaged, went on easily enough and works ok so far. 232968126402was the item no and at £59 wasn't bad. Time will tell. Oops should have said mine is an injection model and so the filler is different but I think they do yours too.

I have been using a chinese ali radiator for 3 yrs now with no problems.
Its 30% bigger core so I had to let out the V panel a little but apart from that it was a straight swap.
And it was under 70 quid delivered

Well done @Cougar377 .

So I'm back on the look out for another one!
Youu can still use it ok Dan, the amount of Birds I have seen with that bottom bracket missing is amazing !!
Believe me, the water pipes will hold it in place..
Last one I had like that I just epoxied a bracket on

If anyone would know about these things, I imagine it would be you. I will look at cutting the bracket off the old one today. I'd feel better with a glued on bracket than running without one.

Well here's a turnip for the books!

I was cleaning the area to glue on the soon to be removed bracket and it looks like there was a bracket on the new one!

Going to use fibreglass reinforced filler to build up the surface and bond the bracket one.

Wish me luck.20200411_101618_compress0.jpg

I got a £69 chinese one off ebay. It looked identical so I sprayed it black (During the Winter). Then came to fit it and it wouldnt fit proper, I battled to find the precise reason. Eventually found (after making drawings of the two rads) that the top LH mounting lug was the main culprit welded on in the wrong place. I then traipsed round loads of local firms to find some one with the gear and right consumables to weld it(without any luck). I ended up modifying the top LH adapter bracket on the bike. Have put almost 2000 miles on it up to today(y)

When had mine off it resided soaking in the bath for several days having intermittent showers.
Unbelievable how much silt washed out.

I did wrap all the hose connections with plastic bags so silt didn't get into it.

I poked the gaps in the fins with a bit of an old plastic membership card. A dodgy operation. The fins are like tissue.

I did the Beemer another time. I couldn't believe the difference it made when the fan cut in in traffic. You could actually see the needle moving. Prior to that the needle struggled to move.

Well, after a bit of faffing about, its fitted and all put back together.

I'll take her for a run in the next day or so.

Thanks for all of your input.

Luckily, or unluckily depending on your point of view, I'm an essential worker so I'll go to work on her next week.
