Said thanks to one of the peeps who helped me at the scene last night,, said he had a visit off the driver who is most worried about losing his licence & being prosecuted,, :dunno: because he has to ferry his handicapped son about. chap told him he was lucky he didn't kill me & that everything else that happens is a bonus.

Fekking W8nker !! Not happy with a near fatal: now trying to pervert course of justice - I hope you're going to keep your solicitor and Plod informed of apparent attempts to influence witnesses !!

I'd love him to get hold of the URL for this thread and see what the concensus really is.................

GOOD NEWS

If anything good can come out of this is that Shrops's Assen ferry booking has been changed to accomodate his cage. So, the Massif have a support vehicle to ferry all the duty free.

Thats a bonus

but about the only one :xm

Sorry to hear about your off Shropslad, and pleased to hear you are mending and getting another bike.
It might sound presumptious but if you do feel like a couple of rides to get your confidence back when you get your new one then feel free to contact me. I would be more than willing to assist.
Take care and enjoy assen, even if you do have to in the cage!!

Cheers Pashion

Might take you up on that when I am healed,,,,,, funny really ,,loads of thoughts go through your head,,, ie, could I have avoided the twat,, but same answer is no,no time & he was just to close, then you think shall I get another bike,, is it all really worth it,( with thousands of twats on the roads just like him), had this discussion many times with wife & family,, have been riding bikes since 16th Birthday this is only my second off,, my first was when I was still 16 on a moped, , this though was my worst by far.

The Family all tell me don't get another bike,, i'm lucky to get a second chance many don't,, but I say why should I let some twat ( who had a moments lapse in concentration) stop me doing something that I love & my wife enjoys,, we did 25k miles on the Blueship enterprise in 3 years 99% of them was two up,, just glad Lorna wasn't with me on this occasion.

BTW: have been ringing around for a second hand BLUE ( yes got to be BLUE) B/bird looking for a 2001 or newer with digital clocks and extras,,let me know if you know anyone with one that wants to sell.
quicker I get another the better IMHO.

best wishes

You know Shrops, it's a funny thing. When people have a car crash, nobody asks them if they will go back in a car. NEVER. It's taken for granted that they will.

And that has nothing to do with the risk level of the activity - there is a risk associated with being in a car - a lesser risk than with a bike sure, but a bigger risk than not being in car.

This question is connected to a subconscious fear of what is not perceived as being the norm. When we travel we wear funny padded clothes, a helmet, gloves, big boots, we "drive" with our body, our "vehicle" might be noisy, we are exposed to the elements, and as opposed to driving a car which is a standard (almost automatic) activity, it is a deliberated choice we make to ride a bike... we wake up very deep-routed fears. We don't look like the norm.

So when people ask us if we're going to stop biking, the actual question they're asking is, "are you going to come back to the norm?" And to this question, we all have individual answers after a major crash - but those shouldn't be influenced by peer pressure - one way OR the other.

And don't get a fooking blue, you know black is best for fook sake!!!!

Ya know, more people get injured crossing the road than on bikes
Yes Clive, but in relative variables the percentage of injured in the pedestrian demographics is significantly less then the percentage of injured in the bikers demographics... Having said that the later includes scooters, mopeds and other gixxers/R1 young boy racers who don't have a clue and are really asking for it (saw a moron on a gixxer today in London riding in t-shirt, he would have needed a tank around him the way he was riding :bang: )
