This afternoon on the A49 near Ludlow, a senile old codger decided that he would pull out of a junction in his Peugeot 406 estate, right in front of Shropslad and me.
I was a bit further back than Shrops who had no chance to avoid the car as it was in the middle of the lane. The bike went down taking Shrops with it , the front end of the bike hit the car side on and Shrops went flying off along the road. The bike is a total write off with the front wheel off and the front end completely gone but, Shrops somehow got away with some serious bruising, aches and pains. In reality, it could so easily have been a fatality.
We managed to take some photos with Shrops camera phone and will be posting them later.
Just glad that Shrops came off so much better than the bike (or the car for that matter). Really brought home that no matter how careful you are out there, there is always some idiot on the road that can screw it up for you
We'll keep you posted on developments
Must say on this occasion, the police were outstandingly sympathetic and helpful (one of them was a biker, so, I suppose that went down in our favour). Also, lots of helpful drivers who provided names and addresses as witnesses to the accident and stating it was the car drivers fault.
