There's another Pink Floyd tribute band called Think Floyd.... Personally I think they are better than the Oz band.

Yeah, I saw these guys too a while back. While ok, they weren't in the same class as the Aussie Floyd it has to be said. There was also Vitual Floyd... they didn't get too far either if I remember correctly.

When was the last time you saw Aussie Floyd I wonder - they do world tours now. They've just finished the US and Canada, and are in Germany this month, so they have def moved on a bit! :eek:

Hi Rob.
Yes the last time I saw Think Floyd the lead guitarist was not on top form, I've seen him play a lot better that was 2001. I've seen them about 10 times
before. Actually I've seen another tribute band called... Pink Side Of The Moon. and they were a pub band not a big hall type band.
Anyway they are still the best band to me.
I've not seen any bands as we move to Spain almost 3 yrs ago I do miss them though.
Cheers Paul.

A few years ago I remember the pink floyd tribute band playing the BMF show. I'd bloody nodded off in my tent! I woke just in time to hear "Run Like Hell".
ABBA were good because they had a good song writer and good singers. Something a lot of modern bands lack. Their videos are highly amusing and arousing in a disconcerting way!
I'm currently enjoying SACD and DVD-A releases and am looking down on anyone playing "Stereo" CD's lately. :yo:

Greatest band to live IMO :yo: Only wish I would have been old enough to see them :cry: Have all their CD's and DVD's though. Im sure everyone has heard about it, but if not, Live at Pompei is awesome. Sadly, that is the only video I have found that shows them from a much earlier time.

When I build a house it is going to have a small room dedicated to just listening to Pink Floyd :-: Get out the headphones and turn out the lights and enjoy the ride. Dark Side of the Moon will be great.

SACD's - pointless as the ranges reached are beyond that of the human ear, but don't be surprised when ya dog goes fookin ape shit and bites ya :}

I demo'ed an SACD unit at home a few weeks back with my existing Muscial Fidelity set-up & Castle Inversions 80's and it didn't sound any better than my X-Ray CD player, so I'm currently looking down on at those with SACD :f :}

SACD is near-analogue in reproduction, and I'm loving the 5.1 tracks. I have a DVD-A/SACD dual player to keep my options open.
Old quad mixes transfer well to the new multi-channel formats also.

Back to the original question, what defines real music? personally I like many different types of music, in my opinion Abba have never recorded a bad song, likewise with Neil Diamond, Meatloaf is a god, albeit on his last concert performance, a God who is past his best, there have been some brilliant Punk bands some still performing to this day, people mocked chumbawumba when they released 'I get knocked down' and passed them off as one hit wonders little realising that prior to that song they had released nine albums, Enya is another one that I could listen to all day along with Dido, Oasis have released some excellent records, I also like listening to Andrea Bocelli, and a lot of classical music.
And yes Dark side of the moon was the first Album I bought out of my first Royal Navy pay packet, so yes there is real music out there just open up yer ears, don't be pigeon holed into one category, my eldest brother is of the opinion that there is only classical and opera and all the rest is just noise but he is ignorant.
