What a good weekend!
Started awfully and I didn't arrive on Friday until 7.30ish. I had two ride through really rough weather with rivers across roads and visibility verging on dangerous.
However I arrived and the rain had stopped...and the tent went up and the beer started flowing and total strangers began to become friends. Yeah it rained later but no one was bothered. Beer and live music tends to do that... and biscuits
Saturday's weather was great and that helped a fun ride out (cheers Clive!). My little pressies for the kids (Wells sticks of rocks) went down well
Saturday night turned into a right giggle. The alcohol helped but it was all you folks that made the evening.
Thank you to everyone for making it a top weekend .... even if I did have to suffer being forced to drink JD and eat a huge breakfast ;-0)) Thanks guys. Much appreciated.
You're a truelly great bunch of generous and hospitable people who welcomed me like a long time friend. :-0)
Saturday night : I didn't realise how pished I was. Finding evidence and hearing talk the next morning means I realised I don't remember everything. The Mrs even told me I called her at 23:15, was making no sense and was just laughing! I guess mixing JD, real ale and a throwing in a couple of pints of 7.5% cider might explain it. I'm sure I would have remembered the dog though!!
To anyone reading this who hasn't been to a bash coz they "don't know anyone" well here's proof that's a poor excuse. Last year at Thetford and this weekends do, just show what a great bunch we have on this forum.
Thanks all again.
Next year looks like a certainty although I could need 12 months or more to get the Mrs along!
I'll be supplying the bottles next year
I hadn't considered taking anything to a beer fest! doh!
