EVENT IS DEFINITELY ON.

Welllllll, if you guys want a impromptu 'Norfolk' bash, we could meet at the Melton Rugger Club (near Norwich).

Dates confirmed.... JULY 20th to 22nd, when the rugger club hold a BEER FEST, costs £15 for the whole weekend (£20 for two sharing) with extra for food & drink.

Free live music and stand in disco all weekend from about 11am, Friday till Sunday.

If anyone's up for it I can organise a ride out on the Saturday.

Problem solved at little cost and no organisation. I have been the last 2 years and had a cracking weekend.

No booking, just turn up and pay your fee per person.
Camping and caravans/motorhomes allowed/included in the cost.

For beer you buy your 1/2pint tokens and take them to get your beer, makes serving quicker.

Last year was chilli or curry Friday night, BBQ Saturday, Breakfasts cooked Sat/Sun, Sunday lunch roast. Prices were, well its not worth bringing your own. Tea/Coffee etc all day...

This now relates to the 2012 Beer Fest;
Twenty-five real ales and ciders from Norfolk will be on offer at The Crusaders rugby football club’s annual event.
Events co-ordinator Maurice Durrant said: We started the beer festival about three years ago and have since made it an annual event, which has grown every year.
Attendees will be able to bring their caravans and camp at the club for the duration of the event, which will feature live music..
People can camp for the weekend, although it’s not quite at the Glastonbury level. The Murderers pub from Norwich is helping and Winters brewery, also from Norwich, is accessing all the ales for us.
We have had superb weather the last couple of years, so we are hoping for the same again.
People can camp & caravan on site for £8 per night or £15 for the weekend and this includes one person’s entry to the beer festival. Showers available on site with breakfast if required Saturday and Sunday. Normal entry is £3 per person for one night or £5 for the weekend.

Updated 6.7.2012
Toilets are rugger style, no showers, water available. Last year there was a porta loo for campers. (that side of things is a bit rough and ready).

Update 9.7.2012
Rideout: coast ride if weathers good or Duxford Museum (extra cost) if its wet. I suggest you fill up with fuel before the off.
Ride out will start 10.30am Saturday. Simple rule, don't loose the bike behind you, that way the last bike controls the ride out speed.

If you're coming for the rideout and not staying, you may get charged the 'day entry rate £3', if you don't want to pay wait at entrance for the 10.30 start.

I know Norfolk is 'special', and Norwich even more so. But not only does it now appear to have it's own time zone, it's got it's own calendar.

This year the 22nd July is a Sunday, at least round here it is.

Chris

PS This is before coffee, and my brain isn't even up to the 2 cylinders of the new R6

Come on you Hatters
Now I've looked at my diary it's doubtfull. It should be when we're in Europe for our annual trip, although so far thats not going very well planning wise, so who know's.

Sounds like it can be a last minute decision, so maybe I will if Europe doesn't work out.

Umm, I got the info of a local rag web site dated March 2012. So dates have not been confirmed yet.:bang:

Went Via cage last year.
You may be right on dates, but until I can get hold of 'official info' it'll stay as late July. However with your inside influence can you find out?

you did have the right weekend, you just had the dates a couple of days out. It is 20-24th AFAIK. see you have now edited them out anyway.

Don't trust local rags! Morons.

Cool @tu*

My diary looks clear so I'll check on what SWMBO has on the family calender and then confirm :-0)

Duxford would be nearly home again for me but "it's all about the ride and not the destination" ;-0))
