Sunday afternoon first time out on a bike for 7 months. Fat Berts out feeding his face so I potter off to Matlock on me own for a coffee.
Alls going well and getting back into it again until I get to Matlock Bath, and get waved into a laybay by a nice Policeman.
He then starts to go though the usual 20 questions
Is this your bike ? YES
Whats the Reg Number ? DONT KNOW only got it yesterday.
He then spots my new shiny mirrord visor.
What are you going to do when it gets dark ? Errr I will change it for this one says me pulling out clear one from visor bag attached round waist.
I suppose thats OK then he says.
Exhursts are a bit noisy anit they ? Might be but they are road ones and are BS stamped. He then peers at them for a moment or two, nope they are OK.
He then procceds to look the bike over checks the Tax disk tyres etc, all goes well until he gets round the other side where my trusty walking stick is strapped to the bike.
Whats this then ? Errrr its a walking stick
Whats that for then ? Errrr walking with I`m disabled.
This seems to satisfy him but he then checks to see if its firmly attached to the bike by giving it a few tugs.
Phew it passes.
Anyway he let me off with a warning for being in charge of a dangerously slow bike.
I manged to refrain from commenting well what a waste of fooken time and effort.
Did notice that in the 10 minutes I was there that NOT ONE Cage was pulled over:dunno:
Does this happen in other parts of the country ???? or is it just Derbyshire
