JONO, the bargains depend upon what you want.. I wanted a pair of paddock stands, an Autocom, a DVD and a HAYABUSA.. I bought the Autocom, a fleece jacket, burger & chips for myself and IanRobbo but i forgot the stands, and bike wouldn't go in the back of the car.

Baz, it was the Avon Tyre stand, not cosmetics.

Well in that case they should have been more specific

I did however have several failed guesses at whether some of the lycra clad ladies used depilatory creams and the girls handing out free copies of the Sun newspaper refused a private camera moment !!

I did however meet a Bird owner on the datatool stand, is he on here ??

All I wanted was a new visor for my Arai with pinlock, ?50 at show, ?31.50 on the web. Looked at the bagster seats.....no real offers, got an autocom already, new leathers....nah... not at those prices, went for some food...?5.50 for a burger and bottle of coke  , a hotdog for ?3.50 (one sausage and bread roll remember). Went home.

Am going up to the show on Sunday, never been to a bike show before 8l1nd but am seriously wondering whether it's worth bothering after everything that's being said on this thread, it's paid for and done and dusted now so i'm still going just to see what goes on and hopefully pick up a few bits and peices while i'm there.R#?

Has anyone been to the London bike show before and can anyone tell me if it's better than the NEC?:dunno:

Was also there today..... made the Avon stand for 12.00 but didn't see anybody.

Shalershasker - I don't think the show is the same as it was but I'd advise you to go just the same and make up your own mind. There is a lot to see if you haven't been before, but there ARE a lot of helmets, muck-off stands etc!

For some reason I thought the Triumphs looked good today, except the triple four! Strange looking bike........ gave that one one of Wolfie's "M" awards.

Was good to see Honda putting something in for free, namely the early steps rider training they were doing for the little kids! Togging them up with safety gear and maintaining a hands on to the bike, (and a safety cut out cord was held by another guy behind), they helped the kids ride around a little course complete with zebra crossings, roundabouts, traffic light etc, - on great little bikes too. Not just a free play ride either - they gave them some proper spoken tuition, at least when they could maintain the little darlings attention. They were then given a little card licence! I was impressed with all that for some reason!!

Amusing highlight of the day was when I walked past The Sun stand just 5 mins after arriving. One of their girlie's thrust a copy of the paper at me and said "have a free paper, and catch up on todays news when you have a coffee".......... "actually," say's I, "I've got some news or you, as it happens. Your editor has just been arrested and is in Police custody for attacking her hubby!"

"Whaaat" she say's giggling, "that's an outrageous thing to say, you're joking?" "About as outrageous as some of your front page stories really, but, unlike most of those, this is true!" I said, grinning.

She got her boss over and I explained what I'd heard as breaking news on the radio in the van whilst parking just 20 mins before. He was gobsmacked.

I gave them the paper back and said "no ta - you're FAR too slow", and strode off. They really didn't know quite how to take me at all.

Amusing I thought.
