Went down wit my son on the bike yesterday - not too much rain on the way!

Still think the prices (for all days) are a rip off but had a good day anyway. Sorry didn't get to meet up with nayone but it was after 12:00 when we got there so missed the meet up time at the Avon stand..... did get to see the "very fit person" in the black outfit on the stand though!!

As we went around 11 yr old son could be heard constantly saying "oh la la"..... I tried it and he promptly told me he'd tell mum when we got home...... told him OK he was walking home......

What did I spend.... not a lot really..... pair of warm winter buffalo gloves for the kid..... for me.... finally got an autocom unit for the bike. With their half price deal at the moment I just couldn't resist.

Had a good look at everything and sat on many. Still don't like the overall look of the new Kwak1400. Can't understand how you ride a Harley, with my knees against the tank my leg bumps on the engines bits on the right side. It must be 'cos I'm either not fat enough or don't have a beard.

Son looked alarmingly comfy on the 125's he kept trying... I can see what's coming.

Had a good day despite the entrance price and am being told we're going back on MOnday whatever the weather..... hmmmm.

Well me and my mate cant be arsed driving or paying parking charge so we are gonna try the Blackpool Honda trip. It is ?25 return including ticket, refreshments and raffle. Doesnt sound bad to me!

Worst ever

Went to NEC yesterday (sat),, we have been going every year for the last 5 or so,, it seems to be getting more expensive & the show is getting smaller,, Aprillia wasn;t even there this year. Waste of time IMHO,, Only thing that made it a nice day was the company we went with. the Kwaka zzr 1400 uke: looks like a low slung fat fronted long drag bike.

NEC should get there act together & bring prices down for the Exibitors then maybe,, more will come & exibit thus bringing more peeps,, spending more money,, it ain't rocket science is it. :bang:

There are two offers that people going to the show need to know about.

TWO magazine are offering an ?80 Takeshi lid if you take out a subscription

Autocom are offering various kits half price:-

Went on Friday (intent on missing the crowds), and was very disappointed.

I also thought the number of exhibitors had shrunk (again), and was well miffed with the ?7 car parking charge.

Although impressed with Honda's new robot thingy, I'm still trying to see the relevance of making such a big thing about it at a bike show.

I thought the new Kwak looked pretty good, but it's so damn low at the front, you'd need a greenhouse instead of a screen to divert wind blast over your head.

Ended up buying a set of Gilles rearsets for my 'blade (also wanted a gear indicator, but wasn't that impressed with the Datatool or Acumen models).

If the show organisers don't get their act together next year, I reckon it'll probably end up going elsewhere.

In fact we nearly left before 12 as it was IMHO the worst show I've seen in years. As has already been said, a lot less stands. Last year we couldn't get round in 4 hours, this year we'd seen everything in about 2 1/2 hours.

We wanted to look for a Dainese jacket for SWMBO and found one stand selling them (with a choice of 3 jackets), wanted to check out some hard luggage and found none, and I wanted to look for some jeans and found my choice limited to Alpinestars, RST, Alpinestars, RST, oh, and Alpinestars. I can get a better choice in 2 or 3 shops in London.

I did get an Autocom at half price and got to see the new Arai's but I think next year I will wait to see what others think before going. ?28 for a ticket (preview day) would have been money well spent, if there had been more to see, as there were no crowds. But overall I was very disappointed.

As for the ZZR, it was nice, but when SWBO sat on the back with her toes on the pegs her heels rested on the cans(!) and if she tried to move them forward, her size 6 feet hit my heel, maybe it was a pre production model they used on the stand?

I went on Saturday. I bought a piss cheap winter jacket to wear when I'm walking the kids to school, and nothing else. Going at midday there was almost no traffic going in from the north. They charged us ?6 for parking, even though the signs said ?7 ?

Plenty caught my eye, but none of them would come home with me. :yo:

I thought the kwak1400 looked nice from the front, crap from the rear. The dark grey one lost all the styling details, so the blue was better.

i believe it's ?15 entry to the NEC,plus the parking @?7.....but i think it's free if you go on the bike.
