Back to the main post....

Went up the M4 today, J18 to J16, didnt see any camera vans, but boy was the traffic slow! Stuck to 80 on the clock and overtook everything! I like this!
80 on the clock = real world speed of about 75 ish... bugger all they can do about it.
F*** em, Stasi bastards, using civilians to spy on other civilians for the purposes of the state.

Whilst on the subject, has anyone used the spray-on anti photo (number plate) coating that you see on e-bay? apparently, it will not reflect your number on a (flash) gatso camera.

Does it work ? .. can you see that the plate has been coated?..

at ?25 a tin which is enough to do four plates! if it works, its worth having if four people share it..?!:dunno:

dont waste your money, its total bullshit,!! even if it worked all they would do is change the law and stuff it to you that way,!!! digital means they can zoom right in close,!! so no amount of "shiney" stuff is going to help,!!

It doesn't work dude, nor do these nuber plates that are reflective.
All they do is use the negitive of the film and it shows it as clear as water

Bit of interesting info for you..

I just happen to know that Norfolk Safety Gestapo are so skint they cannot even afford to buy new vans this year !

Clamping down on motorway speeders is a complete mis-management of time and resources. If they KNOW motorways are the safest roads, why not patrol housing estates and school gates for the complete twats who exceed the 30mph limits in the worst possible places? c7u8

I remember (vaguely) an article in one of the bike mags some time ago, which basically said that because the front of the 'bird is so aerodynamic, it is very difficult to get a laser reflection (I inadvertantly tested this theory once - success !). However, should they actually manage to get a speed reading (on their questionable LT20-20 laser), to enable a viable prosecution of a motorcyclist, they have to have a continual recording of your vehicle to the point at which it displays your registration number (bit difficult where the camera is pointing out of the side of a van). So, as long as your making rapid progress on two wheels (rather than 4), I reckon there's nowt that should worry us 'bird riders too much.

Except that a lot of the t**ts now have another operator to read the No plate from bikes. The police only need the evidence of two officers to actually present a case to the CPS for a range of motoring offences.

If there is a Police officer in the van, he can write your reg number down and use it against you.

If he is a civvy he is not allowed, proving who was manning the van would be the difficult part..

From the bridges on the M4 it would difficult to see your rear plate, as the bridges are wide, they would need a good pair of binos, and that would be very underhand to do.. h1d1ng2

Ah well all they will get from me will be a middle finger as I cruise past at 55mph in the truck....

As long as you dont use both hands like some numpty did the other week.

Gonna be difficult, need two hands for drinking coffee, using laptop, reading maps, checking paperwork, using the phone, playing with radio etc, may have to give the middle finger a miss then...

I tell you its bloody difficult driving now a days with sooo much to do in the cab.

This is a very 'debatable' matter which does not just concern writing down of numberplates. The High Court will be 'deliberating' on these matters later this year.
Whilst there are some very serious 'vested interests' to be overcome, there is good possibility of %$fan
