The young Casey Stoner's just shaved half a second off of Rossi! His time was about 1:57 and a half.........awesome.

Awesome second free practice saw Kenny Roberts Jr go fastest ahead of Stoner, Melandri, Edwards, Caparossi, Rossi, Pedrosa, Elias, Hayden and Gibernau.

Roberts and Stoner are the only two to get into the 1 minute 56's

Could be anybody's race at the moment..........dunno where Roberts Jr came from, he was doing nothing up until the last 5 minutes of practice!

No....You're not on your own, Sam!

Just remember that Rossi was in the 1:56's when he set the fastest lap last year. Lorraine and I watched the test session at around six this evening and, after a bit of a discussion, we both agreed that Rossi may not win the championship this year.

By now, everyone should know that we think the guy is the greatest rider of all time (not a god...Oh-hhh no!" Not a god!). And we want him to win -we need him to win, and we'd love him to win. We're his fans. But then, reality - and the nature of MotoGP - kicks in - anything can happen ("Thunderbirds"!), as we saw in Jerez.

Practice isn't qualifying, and a good qualifying time doesn't mean that you'll win the race. But Roberts, Stoner, Edwards et al are all out to prove a point -just like ev'ry other "mo-fo" in the race!

Qualifying tomorrow - race on Saturday:

Qualifying hasn't even begun, but, as a matter of record, we should record our predictions of the race result now. Post a poll, Samster, and record my prediction for Qatar:

Rossi
Pedrosa
Melandri
Edwards

"When da green flag drops....da bullshit stops!"

Yep we should post our predictions, however I don't think the polls are clever enough to be able to be used for this...........so we'll keep them in this thread.

Based on what I saw today:

Edwards
Stoner
Pedrosa
Rossi

Lemme work on these polls DA

Result from Free Practice 3.............Stoner was over half a second quicker than second place Edwards then Rossi, the three of them the only riders to break into the 1 minute 56's.

Pedrosa had a spectacular spill, but seems to be OK. Hayden attempted a practice start and had the Honda spectacularly vertical but recovered it.............

Stoner won the 250 race there last year easily didn't he? He obviously likes the circuit, despite having a new bike.

Rossi will come good again though, just hope it doesn't turn into a one horse race. The guy's a genius, can't stand him, but he's a genius.

So.

Rossi
Stoner
Pedrosa
Elias

Well fook me Casey Stoner has pole! This is even more amazing as the youngster suffered 48 hours of delays getting to the middle east, went quickest yesterday and now is sat on pole.

He was supposed to get to Doha on Tuesday afternoon but arrived at 8am on Thursday morning and went straight out having slept for 2 hours at the airport..........I'm on the ladbrokes website already!

Official results to follow, but I think Rossi starts 6th with Elias, Pedrosa and Loris in the top 5...........

Stoner done well but Toni Elias (My outsider tip) will be the find of the season....
Even after his coming together with the Monkey Man at Jerez and lost a few places he hung in there and got a good result...
So for me its....
Elias
Pedrosa
Sete....
Anyway a safe race for everyone.
Zippo.
Ps...Please let Sete finish a race...

The DAY of RECKONING is HERE! g0nn3

...and I reckon Rossi to win. He's always been more than 4/10's quicker than the others - on any bike, anwhere and in any conditions. But I reckon it's gunna be close, very close, an' I reckon we should expect a "blanket" finish with two, or even three bikes fighting it out at the last corner! :lick:

COME ON, VALE!!! s04pb0x6 :p
