I have had a similar thing and asking around various people ... I ended up with LOTS of differing advice 8rfl@

I decided to speak to the manufacturers of Datatool  and get the full answer

You may have spiked the syem and requires a full reset Or possibly its dead if its older than 5 years and cannot be reset (mine was 10 years old before it 'died')

I have the information which although is a get around... IT will work AND you can go back to original alarm as and when you decide

At the moment mine has the modification working 100%

No alarm, no problems @tu*

You wanna know the answer... ??

I cant divulge the answer on here for obvious reasons g0551p

Even though you don't like me, post up the numbers on the battery - I have quite a few spares from various fobs (always a good idea that8rfl@) and might be able to help you out.

Other than that Ebay is your friend.

Don't like you... Where did you get that idea?

Been doing a few shifts cheffing to help a mate out.
Just finished a 13 hour shift tonight at 1030

Bike started as normal and set off for 35 mile trip home. Stopped for petrol about 5 miles from home, tried to start the Bird and the fukin fob wouldnt work.

Had to phone Mrs P and get her out of bed to drive to tge garagecwith the spare set of keys:rant:

What a fekin waste of space bike alarms are

Anyone know how easy it is to properly remove a Datatool piece if shit alarm system from a carbed Bird?

I would appreciate some constructive comments prior to the expected piss takes roll out

I know I should really post in the help section, but to be honest Im far too tired and pissed off just now to post twice :cry:s04pb0x6s04pb0x6

Neil, I had that bike for 13 years and never once had a problem. Which set of keys were you using? I told you one set needed a new battery. :dunno:

I cannot deny OR confirm that they are the instructions that I was given 8rfl@

BUT reading it thoroughly ... d34l

They do advise cutting and soldering cables 1 and 2 and 5 and 6 but bridging is SO much easier (and insulated)

The other thing I would add is ... disconnect the sounder cone cables too ... an easy 2 pin connector .... simples

when everything is put back together make sure its waterproof and sealed back up

Not that I would divulge any of this on an open forum tho g0551p

You been taking lessons from Eddie? I told Neil one of the fobs needed a new battery but because his dad told him, would he take any notice? Oh! shit no, what the fuck would his old man know about anything?

Only had the bike for a month or so.

Barrie had it for 13 Years, probably never changed the fob battery

WRONG! You know I lost one fob and told you when you came to pick the bike up that the older of the two needed a new battery. If you choose not to listen, don't blame the alarm. The only thing wrong with that bike is the feckin' "I know better than my dimwit father" rider.

So you sold your own son a bike & wouldn't even pay the measly cost of a new battery for the alarm fob? I would never do that to anybody in my family, well maybe my brother in law but nobody else oh apart from my eldest brother oh yes mother in law as well & a couple of Bev's cousins.

SO it's "Have a pop at Barrie day is it?" Two fobs, both still worked but the older one was due a new battery. FFS, how bloody difficult is it to listen to sense. Ah! got it now, he was a prison officer, feckin' know it all.

Its what version datatool and what bike It was connected to is what I was asking Bill .. first post dosnt say wether carb or EFI and it also dosent say which version of alarm it is... the second and third generation of the alarms altered a lot, the wiring went from colour coded to all black same as the Metas and they are a lot harder to reverse engineer ... but seeing as the the thread has gone the usual way my input dosnt matter, but you would have have known that anyway and anyone elses knowledge is irrelevant as usual ..c7u8
