FFS whats all this crying stuff about ?? it's a bloody wheel!! your ok, the bike didn't chuck you off and theres a good possibility you may get some compo from the twats that let the road get in that state!! I would be sat feeling very lucky it wasn't worse!! :dunno:
different if you had come a cropper!! :dunno:

to be honest, the fact that I could've come off still hasn't really sunk in. I'm just really really p'd off at the fact that yet another thing has happened! Just cost me an extortionate amount for the new tyre which is probably now u/s, and the real reason for the  is that I've managed at last to sort my head out (after 8 months) and started to enjoy riding again, and now got to put her away til I can get a flippin wheel and tyre! But hey ho. I'll try and look on the bright side :neenaw:

Well - just had a long phone call with my Dad and I now have a list of things to do!! Report incident to the police (he is aware from previous conversations that potholes can be lethal specially to smaller bikes). Go to the Doctor to report the bruising to my elbow (just in case :dunno: ). Find out cost of new wheel and tyre! Then phone the council to report it to them and confirm claim for wheel and tyre. (although apparently it could take 6months for the claim to be paid :bang: :bang: )

Anyway - thank you lots for all the good advice Much appreciated :k.

Its lovely and sunny here and my baby is tucked up in the garage and I can't ride her c7u8  c7u8

Not good luck? hun, if you had fallen off landed on your arse and then had one like a box of potatoes in a lycra vest then I woulda been pi**ed off.

What I would suggest is, learn yoga, be flexible, sit down, and then bend forward and then check all your bits, if they are all ok and still there then you aint doin to bad.

Many a time I've had a brief lose weight session when some twatta has pulled out on me or the bike has slid due to ninja diesel in the wet at night and yer it shakes you for a while, but then you get back on and thrash that puppy just to remind it who's boss-ish lol

Get ya bike sorted smix, get back on it and you will find this is a very small part of a very small chapter in a very long book

Well - just phoned Fowlups in Bristol for a price on a new wheel (just to find out you understand!!) and he can't possible quote me a price cos he needs the chassis number of the bike! He said the wheels are all different - I pointed out that there are two types, carb and injection, and he still can't cope with the request!! c7u8 Best try somewhere else!!

Dufus - once the bike is back on the road again, I'll definitely be fine!! I miss it already!!! Tried yoga once - they were all too bendy, I couldn't keep up - the yoga dvd I have is great to watch though - cuppa in one hand biscuit in the other, Nice music!!! :}:}

have you been taking stupid pills? 50mph accidents kill ya know, plus the dangers of loss of control and hitting oncoming vehicles. Have a thought, I know you meant well but...............:k

No i dont need stupid pills.......so what about the bit where i said i definately wouldnt be happy using that tyre.......mmmm ehhh

I dont know if thats smix's only form of transport and she had been riding it anyway so i only suggested that if she had to ride it she should keep the speed down.........nothing wrong with that is there :tosser: :k

Blimey I feel a sensible momment coming on.. please forgive me!!!

I know what you mean about fowlers

They have got so big now on the parts side they have a call centre type arrangement where most of the operators are not motorcyclists.

Try dealer locator for another Honda dealer they will have experienced staff who will be able to tell you the correct part and cost, dont forget the cost for bearings etc etc also the discs and pads need to be checked for true as the impact on the wheel may have warped your discs too.

I would suggest you ask your insurance company if they would consider this against an accident? my feeling is that the council/highways dept will be responsible and as such will pay both for repairs and the excess on your insurance.

I am not sure but will ask, Most fully comprehensive covers have a courtesy bike included if the bike is awaiting/being repaired you may find that you should be entitled to a courtesy bike now if you do decide to involve your company at no cost to yourself.

I waas trying not to involve the insurance co as my premium is already extortionate from binning one last year, but you might be right. I'll see what reaction I get from the council later. I do have a car as well, but had just started riding to work on the bike again and enjoying that lots - Its just not the same in the car!! (I keep getting stuck at lights when I try and filter down the side of the queue!!

I rang David Silver spares - can't believe how expensive new ones are! Hadn't thought about discs etc - bugger!!!!!!!! c7u8

Can't tell you where I put the remote - its a secret!!!!!!!!!!!

If you approach the insurance just as an enquiry at the momment at least you will take the next step as an informed one.

It's a common thing on wheel impact, so few realise that sudden impact that has been enough to buckle your wheel may have also bent your discs and popped your fork seals, always worth checking the lot before you claim.

Bugga I hate being sensible

Yes there is. That advice could have killed her. So who's the tosser now:k?

what the advice when i said i definately wouldnt be happy riding on it and telling her if she did use it to keep her speed down because it wasnt safe - how would that kill her? :dunno:

I think youre getting muddled up with someone who was advising her to use her bike man8um

Ok just to clarify Smix your bike is dangerous and i really dont recommend you ride it and if your going to ignore my advise whatever you do keep the speed down h1d1ng2
