I think you'll find that if you look back over your Brexit themed posts, you've also been the mainstay of post Brexit doom and gloom mongering on here .... some might class that as whining. :eusa_whistle:
Or fact??

The arse has dropped out of the £,

There’s no getting away from it.

Although many say it has nothing to do with brexit.

Yet to hear any other explanation......

As stated many times before I have done my protesting for a number of causes I believe strongly in over the course of many years

Please state where & when you have got of your arse & done something about what you believe to be wrong or fought for what you believe to be right because as far as I can see your "protests" are confined to whinging on here :p

I too have fought for causes I believe in but I don’t make a song and dance about it.

Can you not get into your head that just because I think brexit is madness it doesn’t mean I don’t respect the democratic vote where the people spoke.

If I was brighter I would find a way of expressing the previous paragraph in words of one syllable.

I don’t know about you John, but I’ve got a Caxton card but never used it, and I get a rate advice every day and it’s been rising for quite a while, albeit slowly.

while abroad I take a couple of cards, Halifax and Nationwide as neither of them charge for conversion and their exchange rates are pretty good and I can draw cash on the credit card abroad without a charge (I pay off the withdrawal by computer immediately)

Yes I agree.
It was well over €1.40 to the £ not long ago.

My ex-employer is now charging interest on € denominated deposits over equivalent of £250k. That tells you everything you need to know about the current state of UK plc.

As I said on the day of the referendum, the one only certainty was that there would be uncertainty. Economies do not like uncertainty.

That's for certain.

On the bright side, when currencies, and economies come to that, tank, opportunists with a long term view come in to pick over the carcass and so the bust to boom to bust to boom cycle begins again.....

I don't make a song & dance about what I believe in either as I cant sing or dance but what I always do is stand up & be counted rather than whine on a forum like some :p

And its in my head that you don't agree with the vote as is your right I really do understand that as you have said it often enough, but your opinion is still wrong & there is no changing the fact :p

Of course it looks good if you chose a favourable starting point to compare performance against.

Why not compare performed against the £2 to £1 you quote?? It's over 40% down on that basis.

My beloved Manachester United have performed staggeringly well over the last thirty years...but the fact is we are rubbish today:( compared to five years ago.

There is a direct correlation between strength of currency and strength of economy.

I am not saying it is good as such, merely that it is getting better, and has been for the past couple of months

However just over ten years ago it was almost at parity (just after Cyprus joined the EU)

My memory may be playing tricks in my old age but I believe it was nearer 2€ to £1.... Cyprus wa a very cheap place to visit then.

Don't get me started on how they mucked it up after joining the eu.....

Anyone want to buy a nice parcel of land in Cyprus by any chance??:jaja-no:

In my opinion John the reason for the rise is that the markets think that with Boris as pm the last 3 shambolic years are more likely to come to an end and give some certainty. All the time there is a possibility of another hung parliament or worse a communist one I bet the exchange rate won't improve much further. If the election doesn't result in Boris being re-elected I reckon the exchange rate will fall.
