Point made smix, god forbid I ever mention gold levers again

Fuck knows what would have happened if I had said something controversial

I always stand by my freinds when they are upset

Just never had one going all drama queen on pointing out they have gold levers

good looking AND modest
I dont suppose any reaction on this thread could be the straw from other threads that finally broke the camels back :dunno: I belive young smixy has put the point across very well, :dunno: off to my beddybyes now, hugs and kisses all round, :k

Dufus Chap, I have met you as you are obviously aware, and to be honest face to face you come across as an ok kinda guy. So why do you elect to alienate yourself on here?
Everyone of the crowd I've met from the forum are a good bunch and I consider myself the lucky one for meeting them, and some I would consider to have become very good friends. I seriously believe if I was back up to the wall I would recieve help from those who were able.
Now if you know you arent keeping the Blackbird for long and will move on to something new, so it dosen't matter who you upset on the forum I truely feel sorry for you that you feel the need to behave in this way.
Charitable donations I beleive are given in the spirit of charity and shouldnt be used to score Brownie points when it suits you, at the moment I feel ashamed you are from "Snorkell" land.
Wise up geezer, you never know when you may want help (free) with something like a Datatool alarm and find there's no-one there willing to help, it dose go both ways you know.

Mick,

My blackbird is my 6th and as such it will probably never see another owner

I admit I have issues when pompous prats say you cannot talk to us like that we have been here ages and tonight it has proved that mentallity is within SOME members of bird which is a shame.

Until tonight re clic few knew I had even donated anything, but had a old timer said yer sure contribute but keep your gob shut I would have donated a few kind words in his direction.

My post as tonight re datatool proves I do not only offer mirth and sarcasm, but I do not tolerate people starting poo then bitching because they got some back with a limp exscuse that sounds like a jeremy kyle guest line like..."you don't know me"

Taxi...your northern... I didn't expect elecution or etiquette

That is not just on this forum, that is in life. Taking the piss out of total strangers known by name only is a very dangerous path to tread. Somewhere that comes under the heading of of respect and honour, something which sadly so few have.

You can only join if you have met people and are allowed in

Didn't want to get involved in this, but cant help it! Dufus, stop talking bullshit! I am also relatively new here, and would not dream of taking the piss out of someone's misfortune! and as for the "you can only join if...." statement, I cannot believe that someone who obviously has some inteligence cannot understand that with any situation in life, there is an initial period where people get to know, accept and hopefully respect people. It is AFTER this period that things can be taken a bit further, albeit still with boundaries, which are established on an individual basis during this initial period.

Bod I am aware you are intelligent and articulate and as such you will be aware that you cannot have a public forum then complain the public are in it.

The basis of the thread was chuffs missfortune, I imported some mirth and mentioned gold levers, chuffs obviuosly over sensitive at the mo and over reacted then many jumped on the bandwagon.

I suspect many had issues from previous posts as smix has mentioned and chose to hijack chuffs thread for thier own purpose which is a shame and a bit selfish and for so called friends drew out this thread longer than was needed.

In fact yes masons as it was mentioned by multiples that you can only join in some conversations if you know the person, therefore the closed shop comment. It is clear but sad that some chose to use chuffs unlucky momment to have a pop.

To be a public forum as this is you cannot work on a ..we like you so you can join basis that would obviously prove my point that some consider bird as a closed shop...i.e. do as we say or you can't join.

Bullshit bod? which part? having an everday cross match of the public in a public forum or the select few deciding who can join thier club and comment within it?

It is the way you seem to interpret the reaction to some of your posts as being a "select few deciding who can join thier club and comment within it" that I think is Bullshit. People in general like to get to know others, before getting personal, or letting rip with piss taking. The example of a crowd in a pub is a good place to look at.
When i first moved to Stratford, I would only be acknowledged in the local by a "Hi Phil", and some general chit chat about things, but would have soon been made most unwelcome if i started slagging off the locals straight away. I can now rip in to them almost to my hearts content (within reason, there are certain topics that are a no-no with certain people - me included!). It wasn't that I was not made welcome from the start, but I needed to 'build' my relationship with them. The reverse was also true, they did not take the piss out of me (as they did not know me) but do so now, although they also know where the line is. It was a learning curve for both parties, as is the first 'few' posts on here, or possibly until the parties have met.

Also, you are probably right, Chuff may well be sensitive about his bike, I know I would be, and therefore I wouldn't make any flippant comment about it, as I don't know him well enough to be sure that I would not cause offence, as unfortunately appears to be the case here!

Thank you for agreeing with me bod

At last some one see's that unless you know someone you are not allowed to comment. And your'e right to highlight that outside of the forum things are different and that was my point really, HOWEVER we are not outside of the forum we are actually in one!

but point taken I shall make a mental note that no conversation should occur to from one forum member to another forum member unless you have physically met them in case you offend them.

so if you are a new member in bird and havn't met anyone then you have no right to join in through fear of offending and being told the teenage line "You don't know me"

You are, in bird, not allowed to say anything controversial, unless again you have met the person you are inter acting with

You are, in bird, not allowed to insult, take the mick, not have an opinion on someone/something unless you have met them.

Funny that, in this post many of the "we have met each other club" have made comments about me, who they havn't met but are allowed to make an opinion, abuse, be sarcastic and in some cases down right rude.

So let me simplify for the slow, in bird, according to the chosen few, if you have met you can abuse those you havn't, if however you are new and havn't met you should keep quiet

I think the words you are looking for are ... double standards.....discuss

George orwell, move over

Dufus, i bet you a shit stinks of rose petals in your little world doesnt it.

People have posted that you are out of order yet you turn it all round and still believe you are faultless and EVERYONE else is wrong.

People may well have jumped on the bandwagon, but I am not bothered by the fact, cos if anything it would appear I have more friends on here than I thought, and it appears they all now have one view. And we know what that is.

Dufus, IMHO, I think you are starting to show your true colours as arogant obnoxious and arguementative .

Everyone who has commented on this thread are all stressing the same point, come in, join in, but dont take the piss. yet you dont seem to grasp it.

As a biker yourself you must apprieciate a bike is someones P&J, and yes it's going to be a touchy subject when it's dropped or damaged. I cant beleive you would go to a bike meet and take the piss out of a total strangers mis-fortune, without testing the water first. Maybe you would be brave enough to type it to them, but bottle out face to face.

We all post on here cetain subjects which we know will deliberatly start the ball rolling for some serious piss takes, and in fact we are all open to that with any postings. There are sometimes however a subject or two which are more to let of steam, and share with like minded riders. These topics should be realised for what they are, and treated accordingly.

I think the golden rule is, if you aint got the bottle to say it face to face then dont type it. If you feel you are callous enough to stand up in public and utter such moronic statements, just ask youself a question " am I a biker"
