Met a friend at a local garden centre for a coffee and cookie

walked around the village I live taking photos for my camera club

Went for a pushbike ride along the river, took some pics of a flock of Canadian geese, picked up fish and chips for tea.

Worked till 5pm
Got home & made a chargrilled chicken with spicy green quinoa salad, deeeelish, followed by vanilla & zesty lemon ice cream.
Now sat watching Vera.

Finished at 3pm..New led twinkles fitted, oil chain loober fitted..Went for a blat..back in at 21-30Hrs.

Had my golf lesson interrupted twice by the two Spitfires that honoured Dame Vera at her funeral.

One of the few things thing that sound better than a Merlin going at full chat in a low fly by is two Merlins going at full chat in a low fly by.

Got home and fell asleep on sofa after cutting the grass.

I've organised to go out on my first proper, for pleasure, ride tomorrow so I got out my old Contour camera to test it. Went out for about an hour this morning and it only recorded for 30 seconds before the battery died! Put the spare battery in and set it to record just sat on my table and it lasted about 10 seconds!!!!!! It won't turn on when on charge either, so I can't hard wire it in!!!

Finished a job I have been working on for a while & started a couple of others, made two clocks while I was waiting for lacquer to dry & went out to try & find parts for another impending commission without much luck !

Pressed the headstock bearings into the ?Katana frame, then took it to bruv-in-law so he can paint it next week. Then back to clean up the calipers and master cylinder in readiness to box them up and send them off for paint and refurb. Made a start cleaning up the rear wheel. Got the brake hoses ready to go and get them made to pattern by my pal at HEL next week.

Went for a spin up to a little village east of Taunton to have lunch with some old friends, unfortunately was informed the husband had been diagnosed with dementia a little while ago and although is still able to converse intelligently his short term memory loss is shockingly apparent, rode back in somber mood, think I’ll have a drink tonight.

Unfortunately it’s all too common, and I sometimes wonder if I’m getting it as I frequently pick up the iPad to google something and forget what it was I was about to look for while logging in.

I think that is a natural process of aging , I do the same sometimes but it comes to me in a little while, my mate though is struggling to remember I wanted just milk no sugar in my tea, three times he came out to ask me, his wife told me he woke her at 4:30 in the morning asking what time they were coming down to see me when we’d only talked the night before that I would be visiting them and his wife would be doing us all lunch on the lawn.

My mum died with dementia but from cancer and it was terrible later on just seeing a body lying there unable to comprehend what was going on. We are able to treat our animals far better when they get to that point in their lives.

Finished a seat conversion on one of our Beni Mobi scoots
Used the seat squab off an old office chair, junked about 5 kilos of now unused metal off it
When they ( the scoots ) get stuffed in the garage in the van I remove the seats, batteries and motor assembly
The seat in question weight almost as much as the two 50 amp hour batteries so I can now remove it from the scoot a whole lot easier
