Now i will keep it brief and i'm sure you will all agree with me but i dont consider myself as either. The only reason i have a bike is cos i cant find a car that'll do 180mph and 128 in 10.9 for 4 grand. Add to that:Taking a few beers; Getting your leg over what you can, when you can and generally having a bloody good time with your mates and taking the odd risk or two, hopfully without hurting too many people, and I recon your not far off a `biker`

:neenaw: :neenaw: I consider myself a biker but have to confess to driving a car, having the leathers and the motorcyclist accessories. I dont do all my own servicing.. now. I dont ride through the winter.. now. I have never done drugs and I hardly drink (I fall off when I drink).

BUT... I do love the machine, the thrill, the challenge of the road. I like to bend the rules til they are busted wide open... I live for now and I am happy in a crowd of bikers. I wave to all the bikes that come past me and I will stop and help anyone whether they are female and attractive or not! (That just got me another thump of Missy).

I get distressed at the people who WONT ride in the wet... only like to TALK about the way they ride and practice "getting their knee down" simply because they think it looks cool to have a scratched knee protector.

I think a motorcyclist is someone who does it for convenience or status. Bikers do it cos they LIKE it. Bikers do it for the thrill... the others do it for convenience and to show off to their mates.

Hmmm.. now I wonder how much abuse I am gonna get outta that one :neenaw:

I have owned bikes for over 30 years ride all seasons all conditions, have owned bikes from all the oriental manufacturers (big 4 anyway) Euro bikes, Brit bikes, home made specials, touring bikes, sports touring bikes, sports bikes, chops, dirtbikes, stepthrus, monkey bikes, do all my own maintenance, I have ridden with patch clubs, touring clubs, virtual clubs, mates and total strangers had the best of times and the worst of times, been kept skint by them, nearly been killed riding them and I still feel downright miserable if I for some reason can't go out for a ride even if it is snowing and blowing a force 7 gale outside.
Does that make me a Biker :dunno:
I also commute to work by bike, love my cars, love flying (but can't afford it) love sailing, love climbing, love backpacking, love hiking (Rambling here I think?).

Does that make me a Motorcyclist :dunno:

Don't know and whats more I don't care, just wan't to fix my broken Bird and go for a ride :yo:

Been closer to 10 years since I've climbed anything technical, though I did Killimanjaro for my 40th in '96 ( hardly technical but feckin hard just the same )
