Now we are getting down to the nitty gritty.
Just a thought would the biased tread give you a different rpm in corners ?

Need totally different rpm when entering corners down here due to the use of kph instead of mph........:-0)

Why hasn't anyone factored in tyre and road temperature, road conditions, tyre manufacturer? Etc.
Surely higher revs on cold tyres and giving it some stick in corners will warm the tyres up sufficiently to ride "nice" on the straights!

Yes. I’ve ridden the straits. Favourite Sunday run is to Gibraltar – ‘cos I’m a proper riding God. Just watch out for the ferries because they’ve no idea about etiquette at the harbour entrance. Apart from that – enjoy!

Hatchuallyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy

I have spent a a bit of time thinking about this question.. ( welllll a couple of seconds anyway ) and I THINK I have sussed out what young master SC-EM means..

On a good many lesser bikes, it is good to apex a bend on a sweet spot of the rev range, so as to give max control and best possible acceleration out..

BUT !!

Gentlemen.. we are used to the Birds torque, and the fact that at virtually any revs, if you give it a massive handful in a bend you are either gonna have the rear wheel overtake you or you are a riding god and leaving massive darkies behind you

So for someone coming from a smallish sports bike, all rev and little bang, it would seem to be a reasonable question ( maybe ? )

With that in mind, I would say the answer is 7k revs

At 7k, you are right on the ramp leading up to where the real power is, so perfectly poised to go large

Equally, I would caution agin going large from that point until you are virtually upright or extremely confident about rear wheel steering !

zzr low down grunt must be the 11 or 12 john as the 600 is flat as a fart for grunt

True.. but

1) We do not know what the chap considers to be grunt

2) The Bird puts out just about the same across the board as the 11, and a 2 minute ride would reveal that, so surely the question would not have been asked as he would already know the answer from previous experience ??

also thought about this on the ride in today and came to the conclusion that whilst trying to look at the rev counter i completely fucked up each corner and roundabout and if fact nearly crashed on most of them.

from now on i will this advanced type of riding to the riding gods and just try to look where want to go in future.

Going to have to side with Lumpy on this one. c7u8

BIRD

Cold & wet commute, joining motorway in 3rd at 3.5k throttle just on and roll to about quarter between apex and exit, continue to accelerate through gears using quarter throttle.

Warm summers track day at Pembrey, 3rd at 7k throttle at half ready to open at apex to fire out onto home straight.

C90

Close throttle when changing gear or braking, else OPEN throttle.

Are we to assume BandyIrd has a second profile?

How did I get involved:dunno::dunno:

Just looks like a case of a another new site user being driven away in an attempt to get the site closed down.

Anyway, I tend to knock the Bird into neutral for corners as it saves fuel.

Does the bike really have power at above 7k revs??
And I pootle about thinking this beast has plenty of POWER @tu* and I NEVER get anywhere near 7k revs !!
Well I gotta try this mythological region of the rev band ....

I,m with you - ~I seldom get above 5k other than when joining A2 in the morning (traffic and dry road permitting) where it gets nailed in 2nd and 3rd, and leaving the A2 in the evening when I do enjoy some high rev engine braking on the slip road before hitting the roundabout:-0)

your be better off getting a 600cc bike

A, 5000 rpm is only about 80mph on the bird in top
B, your save fuel not running a big bike
C, your be able to nip in and out of the traffic
And

D, you will not need to come on here

E, we will all be Happy
