...Got home this evening from a brilliant trackday at Oulton Park to find that the tickets (that I ordered in March) had arrived from Moto-events - only these are tickets for Stand C - not for Stand H as I had ordered by telephone. Lorraine had already called them to complain - but to no avail.

To cut a long story short - I wouldn't have minded so much if Moto Events had had the courtesy to e-mail me to advise that the tickets I'd requested (and which had been confirmed both verbally and in writing) weren't available. (And, before you ask, I didn't get a copy of their terms and conditions of sale because I booked by telephone.) What really got my goat was that the guy who owns the business didn't have the either the sense or the guts to take the call himself when Lorraine called to complain - he just hid behind his (very competent and fair-minded) secretary.

Needless to say, my recommendation to BIRD/IXXRA/CLOGGERS members that they use Moto-events in the future is withdrawn. If that kind of shoddy, couldn't-care-less attitude is Moto-events' idea of "customer care" they can live with it - and with the bad publicity - for as long as they like.

Ahhhh......tis Friday, the weekend..........I can finaly get around to preparing the bike and myself for going away........roll on Wednesday!

Preparatory Visit

I thought I had better check out the facilities and make sure the beer is cold enough and that the women are suitably attired for the visiting Brits next weekend so i am flying down this afternoon to spend the weekend in Barcelona.
I will report on the conditions you will expect to find for the Moto GP weekend on Monday.
After all I wouldn't want any one of the Catalunya crew to be dissappointed :beer:

Don't worry, Boys (& Girls)

(He's watching a recording of the qualifying for Mugello) but we'll be there and he'll have the beers ready - rest assured! New tyres fitted and the bike's been serviced. Tickets, passports and sick-bags a-plenty are stashed and stored. As he often says: "Let the good times roll!" :yo:

Heat

Heat? No it won't be that bad for you, people who come to us on holiday seem to be able to stand the heat a lot better than me now I think my blood has thinned little, when we first came we couldn't understand why the Spainsh were all huffing and puffing but now we do the same! I reckon as long as we dont get a heat wave you will be fine.
Not last summer but the summer before we had a heat wave down in southern Spain and it reached 59?c but that was in August (and not on a sun terrace.) Now that was bloody hot! 8ree!
This is quite an accurate weather site http://www.wunderground.com/global/stations/08181.html and the good thing is you can change the places and track the weather all the way down.
I'll be checking the bike over today or tomorrow and the last job on Thursday night will be to fill up with petrol ready for the off on Friday morning. We have the 'adaptor' ready for the luggage so hopefully loading the bike will be a breeze.
Only a few days left before we set off, so wishing you a calm crossing
