want to speak about muslims? what about learning about the islamic religion, and how it became perversed by various 'churches' - just the same as christian religion has become perversed by various 'churches'? to have an opinion surely you should first know waht you're talking about. For CENTURIES people have killed in the name of christianity, when in fact they were using this word for their own goals, Is christianity bad? No, those people who used the name were bad. Same for Islam. Read Rumi, Saadi, Ibn Arabi, Idries Shah. Then have an opinion - but do not build it on people who use the name Islam to get their ways.

Some of the views being aired here seem to be quite magnified in light of yesterday's events.

I'm not a fan of any religion as most of them generate extremist campaigners etc..

I also consider myself to be quite even minded but in light of how the world has changed over the last four years or so, it is easy to understand how people's opinions have been polarized.

For example: Shortly after Sept 11th 2001, there were a load of Muslim extremists convening in Trafalger Square and they were openly calling other Muslims to arms in order to kill all non-muslims etc.. There was a large police presence there but they didn't do anything probably through fear of being labelled racist. This is positive descrimination and that's equally wrong Then the BNP showed up and started giving the Muslims a hard time. The police then intervened and prevented the BNP members from airing their views.

I have never agreed with the BNP but they certainly had a point in that particular situation

The Labour government and it's previous rivals are useless fcukin' pussies as someone else pointed out, if you were to visit a middle eastern country and start to disrespect their laws, I don't think you'd have a recourse on racial or cultural grounds when they proceeded to tear you a 'new one' !!

how can people who choose to live here be given more rights that UK citizens ? Wht do we put up with it ? Sikhs are permitted to ride with a turban and no helmet ! If the religion is so important, why do they need to ride bikes at all ? They should be made to choose which is most important.

It's about time the UK government stopped being so politically correct and started to treat everyone equally.

I have posted on here before how I have good friends of all races (including french and German :} ) however I stand by what I said if you want to live somewhere else then embrace that place's practices, do not try to change them.
I have previously posted about how a man in leeds was refused planning permission for a garage yet just a few yards away moslems built a mosque without permission and it is still standing to this day, Yes the Government are wrong for Kow towing to the whims and wishes of the non british, but right minded people do not take advantage,
How would you feel if a total stranger was to walk into your house and rearrange everything?
The reference to the Deer and the Lion was just an example of how if you mix cultures there is going to be trouble, I fail to see how you can liken that to KKK, I abhor violence of any kind and have never believed that violence solves anything,
The many Asians that I know and trust as friends have lived peacefully in this country for many years and respect our country's laws and customs these I have no problem with.
An Asian railway worker who worked with my Father in law stated "You have got your queen, but we have got your country" it is attitudes like this, and the blinkered, brainwashed, turn the other cheek attitude of the pc brigade that is bringing this country to it's knees, if you think everything is rosey then it is you who needs to remove the blinkers and open your mind.
I am called homophobic because it is my belief that homosexuality is immoral
I am called sexist because I give up my seat or open doors for females
I am called racist because I care about what is happening to my country

,

Derek, all cultures are mixed and develop through mixing, that's not my opinion but a fact. ALL cultures 'closed' finish by being extinct.

Morality is a matter of opinion influenced by our social and cultural background - I see it as a disorder, not better OR WORSE than other neurosis or disorders. This is not homophobic, just an opinion which I have developed over the years but I don't pretend it to be THE truth, after all I've got faggot friends, hey Joe? w;;v

Your friend Steve Brook has expressed his opinions that Muslims are the only people that kill other people in the name of religion.
This is racist, xenophobic nonsene and yet you defend him.

The deer and the lion example you use is straight out of the KKK handbook justifying their anti inter ethnic relationships.

You are homophobic if you believe homosexuality is immoral.

You can care about our country that is multicultural and made up of hundreds of years of inter ethnic, interracial relationships without being a racist.
This country is multicultural and better for being so.

Mixing of cultures does not always lead to trouble . It is the narrow minded, hate filled , tabloid newspaper believing bigots of all persuasions that cause trouble.
We can all quote anecdotes to prop up arguements but unless you know all the details of every case we tend to latch on the headlines that reinforce our prejudices.
If you really believe and express your views as posted on here then I am surprised you have any friends let alone Asian, French or German.

What utter bilge Derek

This country is wealthier, better educated, in better health and has a better quality of life than ever.

This country is in great shape and we should slap ourselves on the back more often and be proud of what we have achieived for all people of this land and for the good that we have done in other countries.
We are human,we make mistakes but this country has done more good for everybody here and in the rest of the world than bad.

Have to disagree with you

Try working in the retail sector where you deal with the "minorities"

Then YOUR views wouldn't be so blinkered

Thought I'd better make a reply here.

Racism, homophobia and sexism are borne out by actions. God help us if ever we were denied the right to think what we want.

George Bush attended the G8 summit and stated he was there to look after the Americans' interests. Does that make him a racist.

I am not anti-muslim, but Roxxo, you must look further than the tripe the pc brigade push out. Islam is a widening religion and it will spread it's teachings wherever it can. At my son's school there was a trip to a mosque for all the pupils in his year. This was not balanced by a trip to a synagogue or a church/cathedral or a Sikh temple. This is the action of the state, enforcing a belief upon people wether they wish to listen to it or not.

I happen to think homosexuality is wrong because I believe it is not a natural act. The same as paedophilia is wrong, both morally and legally. A paedophile cannot help being sexually attracted to children, just as a homosexual cannot help but be attracted to someone of the same sex. I know plenty of gays in my job and they are decent people (apart from being criminals) and I spend time in their company, but in my opinion there is nothing natural about one man shoving his penis in another mans anus.

Maybe I am narrow minded, but I eat fish and chips, Chinese, Italian, and Indian food. I just don't think cultures are meant to mix on a massive scale. The EU countries don't want integration, the Eastern Bloc countries have fallen apart - some with dire consequences - all because they were forced together against their will.

I could go on, but fear I will be reported to the Police for my beliefs.

But then I should be OK beacause the religious hatred bill is designed to help people accept others' beliefs.

Is a lunp

a paedophile cannot help being sexually attracted to children, maybe not but they could ignore their feelings.

homosexuality is wrong because I believe it is not a natural act

define natural????

all animal life on this earth has homosexsuals, so is it therefore natural???

aside form the above.

I can not help but notice that there is a lot of sun/star/mirror readers on this forum, the stories in the newspapers are made up glofied to sell more newspapers, they are not all true.

It's time to pull up the drawbridge and close our borders.

Someone above said there were extremists in all sections of the community - wrong- it is only the muslims who do this. There is no killing in the name of any other religion.

Among the conspiracy theorists it is well known that Islam is intent on becoming the dominant religion in the world. . Islam is not a religion of conciliation, it is a religion of domination. further weakening the British and Christian way of life in this country.

Finally, I am not a member of any right-wing organisation. This is just my perception of what I see happening around me.
Not anti musilm Steve?
Your understanding of Islam is very limited.

My views have nothing to do with being pc.

I happen to think that it doesn't matter what colour, creed or relgion you are.
There are good and bad among all.

FB
I have no experience of the retail trade so cannot comment but my opinion is that this country has benefitted and continues to do so embracing all cultures and it is this diversity that makes us more understanding and better able to function in the world.
Having worked in the shipping industry for nearly 30 years I have worked with all nations without major problems. I have seen intolerance on all sides but with explanation, good communictaion and a friendly "can do "attitude most situations are resolved.

We all have different opinions based on our experiences but we all, also know what is right and what is wrong.

For Derek and Steve to suggest that we are so different we cannot live together or that it is only muslims that cause problems is plain WRONG and offensive .

Tabloid headlines mislead and those that cannot think for themselves regurgitate the same old lies that perpetuate hatred.

confusion

there's no how compare homo to paedoph. because paedoph is abuse of phisical or legaly incapables while homosex. is a consense act between adults.
The simple comparison that was made is unaceptable from any rational point of view

I know homosexuality is legal and paedophilia is illegal. I work in jail with a high percentage of sex-offenders. Homosexuality is legal because adults are able to make an informed decision and consent to the activity. Children cannot understand the implications of sex and therefore cannot consent.

I believe your sexuality is in the way you are made, not the way you become. Your sexuality is there when you are born. You do not become hetero or homo or paedo, you are born that way.

As someone said earlier a paedophile should curb his/her desires and accept that they are wrong.

How ?

My wife has been spat at several times, physically pushed around and abused, sworn at, threatened..............

Several times whilst we ran a retail business.

That I WILL NOT stand for

Were these "purpatrators" [sp?] White people?

Not one of them

I unfortuantely live in Derby which is rapidly becoming the crack capital of the UK

Where do all these crack sales take place?

In an area of Derby where WHITE people are "not allowed" - even police

This area has had over ?300m of Lottery and EEC money spent on it over the last 5 years in a vain attempt towards what is laughingly termed "Urban Regeneration" What is there to show for this obscene amount of money? A few Ramadam lights and the best pavements in Derby City

Yet still the police treat this are as a "no go" area 24/7

The local schools are now 100% non-white

White people are not even tolerated within this area - god help a stranger who ventures in after dark - they will NOT get out alive!!

Yet the Mosques continue to prosper

My children who are being reared as God-fearing Christian children are FORCED by HM Gov't Ministers to visit Temples and Mosques and to celebrate Ede and Ramadam - they have zero choice - it is part of the National Curriculum which teachers HAVE to abide by

So please do tell me about the benefits of a multi-cultural society - because as an Englishman [and proud of it] I fail to see any benefits whatsoever
