A big chunk of the Sue grey report was published today and as expected it makes little sense with the excuse given that she cant comment while a police investigation is under way or words to that effect

Seems very much like an arse covering exercise to me, as in someone has to be seen to be doing something while actually doing a little less than sod all

The latest from Boris suggests he's forgotten already what he said in parliament about Keir Starmer and Jimmy Saville.

He now says:

"all that I've said is the leader of the opposition apologised for the CPS's handling of that issue during his tenure and that's all frankly that needs to be said on the matter"

What he actually said at the dispatch box was:

"spent most of his time prosecuting journalists and failing to prosecute Jimmy Saville, as far as I can make out".

Seems to be a combination of he can't even remember what he says day to day, an inability to acknowledge a personal mistake and his usual ignorance of facts and truth.

Even for him it surely can't be hard to check what he actually said.

Why then tell the world he said something he didn't?

Completely delusional and no doubt being told by his lunatic wife that he can do no wrong because he's Churchill The Second.

Much as I enjoy PM Question Time it really is about time that it was all toned down a bit in my view. It really is the opposition heckling with pretty much the default position of whatever is the opposite of the government (plus the benefit of 20:20 hindsight) and the government replying with diatribe against the opposition policies. MPs looking at their phones, having private conversations with each other while people are speaking……..baying like goats half the time…….

I can’t think of another working environment where a meeting would be conducted like that.

Good entertainment ……… but democracy in action?

I think there's nothing wrong with question time as such, it's an opportunity to hold the govt. and Prime Minister of the day to account.

Even more important now its been reduced to only once a week.

The problem is the idiotic and childish behaviour of almost all the incumbents together with the party "in the chair" writing their stooges the script.

Together with the various bits that come out about what's acceptable behavior by MPs, particularly towards their staff, it demonstrates most of them are unfit.

Re your first sentence…I think it is more of a ‘wasted opportunity’

Munira Mirza said in her resignation letter “ you let yourself down by making a scurrilous accusation”.

The definition is:
“making or spreading scandalous claims about someone with the intention of damaging their reputation”

It appears the origin of the word is:
“late 16th century: from French scurrile or Latin scurrilus (from scurra ‘buffoon’)”

It’s all about political points scoring….as ever.

Starmer did apologise for the actions of the CPS when he was in charge over Saville. Equally CPS said they didn’t have enough evidence at the time to prosecute. Those two things can be presented in a number of different ways to make a point depending on what the particular agenda of the speaker is.

Yep, but that's not what Boris actually talked about at the dispatch box.

It's only since the flak followed that his "reinterpretation" of what he said appeared.

He now claims to have said something different to what he actually said!

I don’t believe that they didn’t have enough evidence to prosecute Savile, he had influential friends in high places who were scared of being outed, Hospital Managers turned a blind eye due to his charitable donations, any staff that complained were told to be quiet or moved, the whole hierarchy of this Country is totally corrupt.

Chaos in N.I. also.
Not that it will bother Boris.

Sadly I think the NI situation will just not get any serious Westminster attention right now.

If anything the Conservatives will see it as strengthening their negotiations with the EU. With the bonus that they can claim "we didn't do it".

Coupled with the instruction of another DUP minister to cease the NI Protocol border checks required under the EU agreement it'll just cause chaos for businesses and individuals.

Court just told him he can't stop checks (that Boris signed up for - international legal agreement)
