Heres my findings with Nitron.
So I plumbed for one of these

295 stg plus the vat gets you this base model with preload, split rebound/compression and handily, length adjustement. They include a nicely made preload adjustert in the box. The split collars at each end are well made with four captive O rings. The shock is lighter than oem.
The unit itself is nicely built with lush powder coating and plating.
The machining is lovely too, overall there is an air of quality about it that surpasses my expections at 295 retail.
My stock shock was 32.3 cm long (not including a 6.5mm spacer) so i lengthened the Nitron to match the ride height I had with the spacer.
Rupert Paul of Bike fitted the race spec Nitron to his long term Fazer thou and was very impressed with it. Later he fitted the above spec model and commented that in bang for buck versus performance terms, this was the one to go for on the road. TBH hes one of the few journos i listen to (when hes not banging on about the enviornment) and he has a good understanding of suspension set up. Nitron seem to be impressing a lot of bikers from Guy Martin to the average rider like myself who praise the perfrormance online.
I liked the fact that they tailor the shock to your weight, riding style and intended usage. Being heavier than most and riding the bike quite hard this was a requirement for me.
I took the oppourtunity to strip and regrease the bushes and linkages, they were in good order thankfully but treated them to some marine bearing grease all the same
So how is it? To sit on its plush and yeilds sightly but reponsively to your weight, feels floaty. At speed the bike is way more stable over ruts and bumps, the pre determined set up from Nitron being quite close to perfect. I did notice in very fast sweepers she was beginning to wallow, not badly but enough to require two more positive clicks on the comp/reb adjuster. Same turn, same speed and totally planted yet still a good compromise for comfort and bump absorption.
Having ran Ohlins, WP, Maxton, Race Showa, and Ricor IAS in the past/present I can honestly say Nitron is worthy of being considered as a viable option. I give two thumbs up and consider the base model excellent value for money.
PS; I was going to buy from these http://www.bici.co.uk/Models.aspx?ModelID=866870 as they were cheaper than Nitron themselves... This aroused suspicion and yeilded very, read very bad reviews from folk (paid but not shipped and not answering phone, email etc) So steer well clear.
