Hi Mick my 2 eldest daughters have had it done as well, and it wont be long before the smile on your daughters face will turn to a pained expression then you can get your own back.

I can't see anything wrong with it, there again I do have tattoo's and was thinking about some more at some point. As for the tongue piercing, at least she can take it out if she wants, whereas I'm stuck with my tattoo's for life!

Now both my girlies are over the age of concent I have told them it's your body and if you want to stick metal twigs in it, or stain your skin with ink then it's your desicion. If they ask my opioion on anything I'll say it as I see it.

I got to admit to a couple of piercings. one of them in my tongue. Had a couple more, but they didn't want to heal, so I took them out.

At least they aren't permenant, and if you get fed up or they hurt you can take them out. Never been up for tattoos 1, they don't come off!! 2, the needle machine sounds like a dentist drill. 3, the pain!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And when I had mine done I was too old to be keeping up with peers and definitely too young for a mid life crisis!!! - although I had just got my blackbird!!!!

It took me and hour to eat 7 chicken balls from the chinese Lmao. Much to the ammusement of the olds, I can honestly say no pain at the moment thought ive been told that will come about the forth day?

I have only one mate that likes tounge piercings, the rest all dislike, so not the peer presure etc etc.

Out in a week? They said that with my tummy piercing...6 years on and ive still got it!

MTK is probably right, there no doubt will be a time when I say "wish I never had that done" but right now no regrets.

was a while ago!! but -

I think it was about two days before it swelled. about 3 days of hurting (but not major). then got the bar changed for a smaller one a few weeks later - honestly can't remember how long, prob 6 weeks. Dont rush getting the bar changed though, however annoying the first one is!! and get your piercer to change it for you - much easier!!! Don't forget to keep tightening the balls on the bar or they might fall off - in which case the bar falls out and you have to go through it all again!! (and keep a couple of spare balls just in case!)

I lived on noodles and spagetti for the first few days - you don't have to chew, just move your head and the food kind of slides down!! just don't forget the mouth wash!!!
