Washed off the Enfield after yesterday’s run and resprayed the mirrors covering scratches obtained during storage while the frame was being replaced, general fettling in the garage and later made some chocolate tiffin.

Went to visit a Norton race parts specialist and ordered a shed load of ’stuff’ most of which will need to be made for me over the next few months. I did come home with a box full of other ‘stuff’ he had in stock.

Golf at 7am, early part of the round spoiled by the club idiot who annoys everyone by trying to steal tee slots and playing when people are in range, including me and the excellent green keepers. Words were had as I left the sixth green. He was still muttering under his breath in the locker room, despite my round taking 2 hours and ten minutes which is ruddy fast. Shot 82, really big score avoided by excellent putting for once.

Added the annual dose of inhibitor to the heating. At the risk of blowing my own trumpet (I know everything :flipa:) the foresight I had when put the heating in makes it so simple - turn off the isolating valves to the towel radiator in the utility room, drain 500ml from the drain cock under the radiator then add inhibitor through the top of the radiator. Open isolating valves, give the heating a blast for ten minutes and job done.

Now going for a lay down as my back is sore.

Yesterday actually…went to help a friend out who is clearing his dad’s house (long story). In the ‘for the skip’ pile was an orange tea service. I explained to him who Clarice Cliff was and why he really shouldn’t be chucking it out.

There is another property in Devon that we will be going to clear shortly…..his dad was a quartermaster and did service in many countries. Apparently there are two sheds full of crates with ‘army’ stencils on them…..might be interesting.

Can’t understand the attraction with Clarice Cliff, bloody awful stuff that looks out of place wherever it is put except in a deep very dark cupboard.

Today I have scraped the ice off the car windows, taken Gracie to School, been licked to death by Buddy & Elsie & am about to boil a couple of eggs for my brekkie.

Some of it is very nice. Unfortunately the set my pal has is pretty ‘out there’ but hopefully rarity will give it good value - there are serious collectors out there.

on the flip side there is a lot of Lladro that he thought was really valuable..reality is most of it woukd only attract less than £30:retail so bugger all

My sister in law collects Lladro, most of it fairly worthless tat from Spain, Bev once paid £70 for a hideous Clarice Cliff vase, when it arrived it was about two inches tall, she ended up selling it for £20 on ebay.
