Plod in the Cambridge area are still chipping away at what little respect and credibility they have left in the eyes of the public..

Seeing the BMF as a nice easy target several of em plotted up in and around the area to nick folk for small number plates and other minor infringements of the law on Sunday afternoon.
Before anyone jumps up and says they are only doing as they are ordered to do, 6 million people died in gas chambers and the same excuse was used..
I stopped and asked one of the cops standing close to a roundabout why he was there.

Because with so many bikers leaving the show there are bound to be those who think they are above the law.. ( !!! what a dreadful evil lot we are )

So you think a small number plate is worth standing here and winding up the general public ?

It is people with small plates and loud exhausts who are likely to be criminals in a much more serious way.( paused a moment ).sir.

At that point I lost interest and sodded off..

Sorry guys, I used to respect and help any one who was job, but nowadays... ??

Well lets just say as far as I am concerned I would no longer piss on the average officer if he was on fire ( possibly cos he would, once recovered, nick me for indicent exposure or some such ! )

The local factory is infested with silly small minded jobs worths with no bottle or brains.. And I suspect that is indicative of stations up and down the land.

And truth be told guys, if you have been around a long time I bet you know what I say is the sad truth

Newcastle police have described the death of the 16 year old Hayley Adamson knocked down and killed by a lone officer in a marked car as "a tragedy".

If anybody else does it it's "causing death by dangerous driving" or similar.

Go figure.

Well, around here you just as well not bother to call them at all as nobody's coming anyway!

It was the two rules angle I was looking at Ian.

No doubt they were in a hurry to get back to the nick for tea break. Get them round here - exactly the same time EVERY morning, sirens going as they head to the cafe in Acton for brekkie. Went in there one morn when i was a postie and there were 13 of them in there enjoying a full english, and it's the same every day according to the regular postie on that round. But, if you ring the nick, there is nobody available to take your call, and they will leave a message.

It's a tragedy whatever the outcome of the investigation as someone has lost their life (the investigation is managed by the IPCC). If the police driver caused the death through dangerous driving the outcome for him/her will be the same as anyone else. Police officers have been sent to prison for it in the past.

As Chufmeister says just stay legal and you don't get pulled. I've been riding since I was 16, so 22 years now. This is clearly tempting fate but I haven't even pulled over since I was 18. I don't ride like "Augustus Winslop" (remember the push bike safety add - That's why he lived so long!) or like a lunatic. My bike is always up together and legal. I haven't got a "I'm a cop so don't stop me" sticker. I wonder why I don't get "targetted"?

But yes John, there are some numpties in the cops!

ok. yes it is inflammatory in a way (I guess) to 'do' people for small plates and loud exhausts. But then, people that have them know they could be stopped and fined for them when they put them on? I know I could be stopped for the Black (not tinted) visor I wear, but its still my choice to wear it.

We may think laws on cans and plates are stupid (as are some speed limits) but at the end of the day - if you chose to have something illegal on your bike, you risk getting fined!

It isn't a case of they are doing what they were ordered - you can't compare this to the Nazis. These guys are checking for people breaking the law. Laws that aren't newly put there purely to enrage and persecute a small section of society. Yes, those laws do do that, but they aren't new and that wasn't the reason they were made.

Or is that way to simplistic and girlie a post

I know - hat, coat, taxi (safer than me riding/driving!!) h1d1ng2 c7u8 fl4g71

An official comment was that the driver is being cared for. Nothing was said aout the dead girl's family or friends.

Oh fekin yawn, that's the first time I've heard that old chestnut.
So when you were a postie you didn't eat.....at all.
The police officers who do 9/10/12 hour shifts should'nt eat when on duty?
Why do you think, in this day and age when if you sneeze the wrong way you are investigated and disciplined, they would put their emergency equipment on to get to a breakfast and face the sack if caught? Do you really believe that!

I think we should wait for the full story before we all go on some sort of crusade. From my experience all involved will be getting care and support.

Jono, I don't even rise to that anymore mate. There are some on here who have their opinions that will never be changed. But they're entitled to them all the same. I'm not even sure they believe them at times but aren't just master baiters (not a typo!!)!! Stereotypes are everywhere though, just like Posties shagging everything (mine couldn't, looking at him) and builders ripping everyone off (oops, that ones true!!).

One inescapable truth that I now accept is that you can't do right for doing wrong and you can't please all of the people all of the time!!

I truely have every sympathy for the grunts on the ground.

What choice do they have but to follow orders, even if they have been dished out by leftie tree huggers. As already said, they are in the public eye all through their shift and are soon ridiculed for any mistameaners.
They have a job I for one wouldn't want and have my full respect, unless they preform thier duty as a twat in which case they can go boil their heads

Just to clarify as a former "Bootneck", I think you'll find "Grunts" is a term used to refer to a member of the United States Marine Corps.
Police are normally, "Pigs", "Filth", "Rozzers", etc.
Appreciate what your saying though.
