Bring Back...................

The old system to the Great British Pub.

Two bars......one saloon bar and one public bar and make the saloon bar "non-smoking" and the public bar "smoking". Employ bar staff for the public bar that like a smoke and non-smoking staff for the saloon bar.

Problem solved.

Thank gawd my 'local' has more smokers than non-smokers !!!!!:}

Cannot understand why

anyone would actually want to breathe in smoke.
Ask "them "to work in such a dangerous environment and they would come up with every excuse not to and get the unions involved or want danger money.
Bit like Rolfy me, reformed smoker and while not quite an evengelist, the fewer smokers around the better for me, you and everybody in the whole wide world.
So Tish poo to all you smokers.:p

Roxxo & Rolfy

Being ex smokers you know the reasons why people choose to breath in smoke,it's not quite as easy as that,I've smoked for 20 years now and if i could I would pack in tomorrow if only it was that easy !
Just remember being an Ex it only takes one thing to start you off again,or have I got no willpower :dunno:

Since I stopped 20 years ago I've had the odd puff (& fag err ciggie) and cigar just to be sociable and it was bloody 'orrible.
Yeah it takes a lot of will power and you really have to want to and be determined to beat it but you can. Both my parents were heavy smokers from childhood but they both gave up in their sixties. It can be done.

If you really want to... and I mean REALLY REALLY want to, you can do it...

I know its not "easy", but it can be done...Think of something you want badly, and say that you willuse the money from your fags to pay for it... Thats how I did it...I am not saying you wont want a ciggy every now and again... I gave up 4 years ago, and I still get the urge for a smoke... But, it does go away...

Wolfie, you wrote "smokedriver kills 8"... I am surprised it hasnt happened yet mate... I have seen drivers rolling their own whilst going down a motorway at 70 or 80 mph... holding the wheel with their knees... So it could happen...I have seen guys coughing so hard on a ciggy, they cant control the car...Then you have the bloody idiot who flicks his smouldering butt end out of the car straight in your face (thanks fook I wear a full face helmet).

The list goes on and on... I wish anyonew who wants to give up all the best... It aint easy, but keep going... If nowt else, it will save you money...lol

I am not going to knock you if you do smoke, but dont blow your smoke in my face, coz a smack in the gob often offends man8um .

But as yet, this is a free world, and we have to be tolerant to all faiths, creeds, colours, smokers or not... We have to live together, but I dont have to smoke your smoke...

Right... soapbox going back in the garage with the ladders & toolbox.

Have fun all, and keep going Sam.

Best wishes,

Rolfy..

ps... Dont those Welsh police helicopters go fast.....ROFL

Judge, spot on - exactly what I meant when I said "And people who complain about passsive somking but live in big cities..."
orlando, of course it would cost them, just like nice tables and chairs that are there for the comfort of their patrons, and compulsory things all over the kitchen for hygien, safety etc...
Rob, you're right, extractors don't take ALL smoke but most of it for good quality ones - yes they cost money but hey! if they want the comfort of their patrons they will fit it, and besides, their drinks/food cost money as well don't they?? So, like I said, extractors AND smoking/non-smoking areas, job done, bob's your uncle :beer: w;;v

JUST to...

spark up the issue again (punn intended).......the govenment actually subsidise the tobacco industry more than they spend on anti smoking campains etc....

where the feck is the sense in that..we pay in taxes to subsidise the damn industry and then pay in taxes to tell everyone its bad for you :dunno: and then we all pay N.I to obtain (or not) NHS treatment caused by smoking and related issues....

3 lots of fecking tax just line the pockets of the ruling party with more money and we`re sheep enough to do it.....

All of the above was detailed in the Times newspaper last week....

hat......... coat.......gone :eek::mad: :rant: :bandit:

Pop down to me 'Local', Pierre.......there's a sign on the window that, at first glance, looks like a No Smoking sign. When you get close to it it reads "Smoking Positively Encouraged Here" !!!!!:}

I like my local, I do !!!!!!!:}

Well !!!!!!!!

IMHO I think what there doing in Ireland is wrong, because what it amounts too is there taking away peoples freedom of choice !!!!!:rolleyes:

I don't drink very much, {I leave that to steve} but how would those of you who do drink feel if it was made law that you could only drink indoors !!! ok, ok, I know it will probably never happen, but just say it did how would you feel then? :rolleyes:

Bring back the 60's..................:} free speech, love etc etc

Right with that said I'm off, gonna have a

Bollox !! :f

Anyway, whilst I'm here, may as well stick in 2c worth.............

All smokers and fatties too should be praised for the contribution they make to the country. They pay taxes on their earnings and the products they consume then die of weight/smoking related illnesses before consuming their fair share of NHS resources. Top chaps[esses]. Now if they'd pay for my laundry, I'd be happy to let em smoke next to me in Pubs..................:beer:

If you see an obese smoker, shake him/her by the hand and thank them. Hurry !! There's not much time !!! :}

DB, thing is, same could be said about bikers since we have a higher fatality rate than average - it's all about doing what you like doing and assuming the consequences of it init - and before anyone says that they don't decide to do passive smoking, well they decide to go to pubs where they know they're gonna be smokers in pubs, and besides many people decide to live in big polluted cities, take the tube which is a renowned hazard etc... oh, and drink alcohol, and many other stuff I can't think of but that are hazardous as well - now, gonna have a gitanes with another beer!:beer:

I am another one on the fence. Gave up 3 years ago, never wanted to be a winging non smoker and I truly believe if you wanna do something stupid then you should be allowed to.

Just wish they would put adequate ventilation in pub's etc, would not be to feckin hard to put an extractor here and there :dunno:

Honestly smokers until you give up you will never believe just how bad it does smell, but like I said, as long as you don't mind me riding past you at 150 then I don't mind you trying to kill me :-:
