Doctor WILF,
Years and years, billions of pounds and human experiment along with post mortem has established that infact YES, smoking DOES contribute to various cancers.

Why do you think fag companies put the warning on the packets??

Do you think it damages your health ONLY if you are walking across the road lighting up without looking?? Naaaaa, look at the yellow/brown shit which adorns pub walls, all that sticky goo is being pumped into your lungs AND mine.

I used to valet cars for a living and smokers cars were rank.... i used to cringe when i had to do a complete valet on a smokers vehicle 3ck04 .

You'd all have something to say if i stuck my ass in your face and farted in your mouth... Don't make everyone suffer YOUR chosen poison.

On the old BAC1-11's the cabin pressure valve used to stick because of the build up of nictotene causing it to jam. Easy fix though - thump it with hammer worked every time!

read the other thread there is NO scientic proof that passive smoking cause cancer.

Simple mate, they want us to do as were told while they get on with doing what they want....... and just how many bars do they actually have in the houses of parliament - and all were 24hrs long before the recent legislation 'cause the rules don't apply to them.....

Wilf,
I know of no link with passive smoking and cancer, however, i know that it doesn't help many peoples breathing.. My father has angina and cannot go into a smokey atmosphere as it causes him great discomfort.

I know that it stings my eyes and makes me heave 3ck04

I don't need medical breakthroughs to tell me that its causing me problems.

exactly, this is an unjust law that has been bent to suit and promote those who made it, NOT the public.

no you dont, but this law in full of holes, i have no problem with not smoking in resturants but a pub has always been for the last 400 years a place to drink and smoke, christ it was where people went to smoke!!

smoking can affect peoples breathing , so why are hospitals exempt??? it is the injustice of the law that i find the most weird.

these people are not our bosses we are theirs, they are there to represent us, yet they go and give themselves the pleaseure of drinking and smoking yet take ours away, they go on and on and on about the health issues and yet let the hospitals staff be allowed to smoke.

therefoire there can not be any health issues according to this gov. and by the way it is ok to smoke in a bar because we still can do it.

have apparently identified that 90% of their pubs have a rear area that can have some kind of outdoor covered area put in at an average of ?10,000/pub. Methinks they're taking it seriously! The rep jokingly said that if you have a bit of spare cash invest in the patio heating industry. Does this mean that if a non-smoker were to invade our smoke ridden outdoor area we could tell them to bugger off indoors to their clean-air indoor area or is it the non-smokers choice to join us outside?

Me, live in the City

Naaaaaaaa, never h1d1ng2 .....

Me, run a diesel car....

The fumes are thinned out more in the city than at a pub table.
Why don't my eyes sting and my stomach turn while at work in the fumes  .............because of the particulate ratio per litre of air in a closed environment V's open air.

Smoke yourselves into oblivion outside, i don't give a monkeys.

Funny thing about the "non-smokers" amongst us, is this :

If the majority of existing smokers give up, income tax would have to increase by around 1 - 2% to make up the shortfall in duty gained from cigarette sales. This means (overall) that the smokers would be better off (after having given up), but the "non-smokers" would be worse off.

Kind of ironic, don't you think ?

What about the potential reduction in cost for treatments for:
  • heart disease
  • stroke
  • asthma etc.
The savings would far outweigh the loss in tax revenue...

Then again were in "Blair world" now arne't we?
He'd probably use the cash to blow up North Korea:rolleyes:
