Nope stared at it for a while...and nothing doesn't seem to float my boat so will have to spend a while longer on my bird, also i think the way that pillion is sitting constant kicking her feet and turbulance....what the hell am I saying we all know birds are the best bikes ever designed and built until they painted it red.

Shame they have got rid of the underseat exhaust as I thought it had one of the nicest rear ends in bikedom.

Although it did cook the arse of your pillion!!

Speaking as one who went from Sprint ST 1050 to Blackbird.....

Yes, the underseat exhaust did cook the pillion's backside, also melted her gloves on the grabrail :)-(., not to mention heat blisters up her back!

The heat from the fairing cooked my legs on any warm day, riding with knees sticking out isn't too comfy, I'll tell you. c7u8.

When the rear wheel bearings seize after 8,000 miles ( and Triumph say "It's your fault, lack of maintenance" s04pb0x6), one gets just a little weary of the whole experience.

OK, maybe mine was a Friday bike, but I've never had any such issues with any Honda over the last thirty years, least of all my 'bird.

Well? ?I aint sut on one yet, so, speaking honestly, my reaction was to the price-for-goodies/tank range/proven ability blurb, rather than for the looks. Front end is reminiscent of the ?Bird ? but a bit ?wrong?, ifyer know warramean.

Due to the fact that pillion and rider were (probably) complete strangers, I'd guess that the (presumably) female passenger wasn?t prepared to bury her crotch into fat bloke up front. Possibly, the point of the shot might be ?roominess?, as in: ?Roomy enough to travel separately if you?ve had a bit of a domestic along the way?.

Good effort, though, from Triumph. Not a ?Bird replacement; but at two and a half grand less than Honda?s Horror-bag-VFR, a test ride?s defo. on the cards for me!

Looks ok, has all the right kit.. only thing that'd put me off is the Triumph warranty get out clauses.

What we really need though is a CBR1100XX MkII

Come on you Hatters
Er...(cough cough) Sir.... Mr Angel... Sir.... May I be so bold as to ask if I may add a comment to your thread.... Sir....Please.....

I'd only like to say how much I agree wth you.

I too saw the recent launch info and thought the upgrade to GT spec brought it closer to Blackbird spec for a good price.

As I wouldn't be in the market for a new one, the warranty 'attitude' of Triumph wouldn't really be an issue for me, but would have to also agree with Silverfox, as it's stopped me buying one so far.

So Sir..... when you have tried one, dare I be so bold as to suggest, neh plead on bended knee, that you find the time to fully update us as to it's potential as a Bird replacement. Thank you kind sir :bow::bow:

Like the look of that, it looks better than the standard 1050 ST version

Here's a video of how they put it together

Sooooo fookin dated already ...what's the point? Even the colour(s) fookin dated FFS's.

Talk about bloody minded....Sure you aint a Yorkshireman Eric...?

I know plenty of the fookas over here and they're always the same..See summat that knocks them out...want it want it want it, really, really really want it......fookin fabtastic...Only trouble is it's a case of "can't have it "...for whatever reasons :dunno:....money, spouse etc etc...So what do they do?...fookin slag it off...then ( and this is where the Yorkshire Tommy Opposite trait really kicks in) to really make a statement..they say they'd prefer something else....So fookin predictable...

"Bentley?....fookin likely...this Morris Marina is THE Dogs Bollox and with looks to die for......I "really" want one."

:wank:

My fookin arse.

I think I love you :-0)

I like the Bentley v Marina line too, my hat is off to you

I have a memory in 1996 standing in a car park of a bike shop, looking at the "all new" Blackbird. This guy who I was at school with was there, I only see him every 10 years or so, thankfully. He points at the Blackbird integrated indicators and says "they look shit, you wouldn't catch me on one of these fookers .... " ...... he then rode off on his scabby mid 80's sack of crap with a gaffa taped seat and cracked fairing ....... yeah, like he wouldn't swap in an instant if he'd had more than two pennies to scratch his arse with .......

Sorry fer the delay ? just back from Le Mans. :yo:

Nice to see you kids have been prattling on about the Pig-Bike ? and it really is a Pig!

Sat on one ? they hadn?t even fitted the clutch lever ? dolts!

pigBike.jpg

It?s a Pig.

Seat?s so low yer feel like yer should pick the thing up; tuck it under yer arm an walk away wi? it.

I should never have called it a ?Donkey? bike, ?coz it?s not ? it?s a Pig.

VFR1.jpg

CopyofD1.jpg

An? I?m from Lancashire, not Yorkshire. If I want one, I?ll buy one.

But I don?t. So I won?t.

Cuz I think it?s a Pig of a bike that?s too small, too low, too expensive and ? most of all ? too fookin ugly to bother with.

pigBikea.jpg

I really, really didn?t like the look of it, right from the start and I like it even less, now.

...At least, the Triumph can improve - the Pig-Bike couldn't be worse.

No doubt, we?ll be able to look back at this little episode in two years time and have a few collective ?shakin-of-heads-wondrin?-what-the-fook-Honda-were-thinkin?-of? sessions, I?m sure. :-0)

...An' we can all stand around Tiny Timmy's VFR1200 - pointin' an' gigglin'... p0pc0rn41
