I am not aware he is homosexual.

Everything else you say is valid.
A poof is not necessarily a raving bender, Andrew e.g. “Get in the pool. The water’s not that cold, you poof!”

Why do you think we chose now to go away!
Have not seen or heard a thing about Wendy ball !

You must be staying out of the bars then!
I know that out in Corfu there will be very few bars that are not wall to wall football.

Don't do bars.. Occasional restaurant but we tend to avoid anywhere that has a tv or would attract the low life scum bag hooligans associated with Wendy ball ( appreciate a VERY small minority of followers are genuine enthusiasts, but they do seem to be somewhat outshone by the mindless hooligan factions)

You are having a laugh. Talk about tarring all with the same brush!!

When was the last time you went to a football match? I go quite often, not as much as I used to, and can't remember the last time I saw any trouble.

I will agree that England fans abroad are trouble. I did Euro 2016 in France and had a great time everywhere we went, aided by studiously avoiding the England hot spot drinking areas, where mayhem was virtually guaranteed.

I also agree that pubs showing England games on a hot summer day when people have been drinking for hours is a recipe for trouble. I am sure it was all jolly and lovely yesterday as England won. If (when) they get knocked out by the Germans it will change.

Idiots are going to be idiots whether it is football related or not. We had a quite unpleasant stay at a pub in central London where a load of England rugby fans were also staying after a game at twickenham. Boorish louts. Even at breakfast on Sunday morning they were pretty unpleasant to be near.

Got to agree.
BUT
How often do you hear 'Muslims are just a bunch of terrorists'. A statement that could not be farther from the truth..
Yet the answer is the same.. Those who are the innocents need to be more proactive in outing the fanatics..

It is exactly the same with football. Until the innocents are willing to point fingers instead of encouraging the hooligan element to carry on by inaction, the perception of people like me will remain the same.

Public will always take the lowest common denominator of a group as the norm ( this has been the same throughout history )

Another way of describing that john would be 'ignorant':couch:

In the bad old days you would hear man united 'fans' singing about the disasters at Heysel and Hillsborough. If anyone starts that these days they get told to 'wind their neck in' by more than one person. I am sure it is the same with Liverpool fans and their appalling Munich song.

Times move on, and I would state with certainty that the behaviour around football in and around grounds has improved beyond all measure. But there are always idiots - those that threw bottles/bricks etc. at the Manchester City bus at Anfield are probably the same people that get disorderly while enjoying 'a good night out' (ie 12 pints with shots, thrown out of night club and a punch up then the night in the cells for drunk and disorderly) in a town centre high street on a Friday night.

Just a thought. I drove home from North Kent yesterday. I saw five motorcyclists during the journey. Four of them I would have ticketed if I were plod - excess speed, without due care and attention (extremely erratic riding in a group) and two popping wheelies.

Therefore all motorbikelists are hooligans.

During the last week or so that I've seen England "fans" on the goggly box being interviewed (at home and abroad) it's been early in the morning and they've had pints of lager in their hands.
Not a great advert, I think.....

Sadly it's the same in most town centres now.

Mind you, in Amsterdam there were plenty smoking spliffs on their way to work.:elefant:

Early in the morning here could have been anytime there, they have several time zones.

Each time I've seen these twonks it's either been early here in the UK, or early in Russia. They also interviewed some Engerland fans one morning recently who were waiting to board a plane to Russia. Pints of lager and plenty of evidence on the tables that it wasn't the first of the day...

Who the feck downs pints of lager at 08:00 in the morning...especially as you're about to fly out....?

Pretty much half the English people leaving a U.K. Airport going on their cheap package holiday......

As an aside, the airlines would like to see 24 hour drinking at airports abolished to reduce the problems it causes them....BAA won't have it. Something to do with profits I understand.....

And that behaviour caused property damage did it ?
Caused riot wagon a to be rolled out ?
Or did it just piss of tin can pilots for what ever reason ?

Well the one that came past me at high speed then dropped in front of me, sat up and turned round to look for his equally moronic mates with his hand off the throttle did piss me off. The fact that he was in shorts and vest was up to him.

Lesser men than me wouldn't have braked and just mown him down.

John, we all know that the cretins that ride like this and spend the rest of the time popping (rather pathetic) wheelies are the ones that give motorbikelists a bad name.

On that basis you might want to agree that it is a minority of football 'supporters' that give the rest a bad name.

No mate. You have said nothing to improve you position.
I reiterate, the riders in question might well be not terribly sensible but they cost no one money or time.
When football hooligans restrict pain, suffering and financial lose to themselves and or the immediate footballists, then and only then will such argument be valid
