I forgot to mention, since getting the bike I have fitted clear / smoked indicator lens back & front (had to call jaws to find out how to fit the front ones, thanks) and I have fitted the blanking covers for the frame holes as you can see.

New on here, bought a 2000 XXY from fleabay over xmas, weather been too shite to bring it back oop north since (also had to secure my garage, replace alarm and cctv etc after some scrote nicked my Triumph). Not ridden it yet so I suspect it will be a bit quicker than my tired three cylinder Triumph 900.....
Plenty of extras on my Blackbird, vario screen, heated grips, scottoiler, mirror extenders,Garmin,Givi luggage etc, suspect I may want to fit bar risers but will see if I get on with the standard setup first.A mere 60k so just run in,any tips?
Bought a blue one as I'm told thats the fastest one.

Riding it back as I'm a tightwad and don't want to pay for a trailer.Heated grips or not the weathers way too crap to contemplate a 250 mile ride home on it!

I might just take you up on that, trailered it back from Devon to Kent at xmas when I bought it,didn't bring it home as alarm etc not sorted after twat burglars nicked my Triumph after burgling my house and taking bike/garage keys(now have a safe so if they try again they won't find the keys as easily).I might wire the Blackbird to the mains.....

If you've still not got a secure garage, leave it at mine till yours is sorted,:dunno: I can put a cover over it so no one can see it's blue!! :-0)

Bastards won't get this one, ground anchor, alarm, garage t-bar and bolted inside, cctv, bike datatagged and smartwatered, keys will be in newly installed (and hidden) safe, not kidding about wiring it to the mains either!.Thanks for the offer, will quite possibly take you up on the loan of the trailer,I can get tie downs etc, have a towbar as I tow caravans for a living, with my car doing mid 50's mpg on diesel will probably be cheaper than train down and riding back, the savings might pay for the beer/trailer hire....

Police not useless, they've recovered my Triumph!
No keys though and waterproofs, tools, puncture kit etc missing from topbox.
Bike appears to be ok but as Triumph have quoted me almost ?700 to replace all the locks (including the luggage) and the fairing has gained a crack next to the indicator I'm hoping it gets written off.Fairing ?420 plus vat.......
If I get it back its still getting sold as who knows what thieving scumbag has done with it,at least he's not got it to sell/split/rob a post office with!

Bit more info..

Does it have reverse ? If so what unit was used ?

What engine is it ( carb or EFI ) ?

Is it road legal ?

It's a Westfield based on the lotus 7
It is road legal and it does have reverse, it uses a quaife reverse box
It uses a 2003 injection engine
It does about 125mph but gets there very quick , well quick for a car
It sees 60 in just over 3 seconds and It weighs 420kg before I get in

Nice.. Top speed is not everything .. acceleration is where the buzz is !!

Quaife !! Bloody hell.. Did not know they are still going..Absolutely top notch kit as was, so can presume they still are about the best out of there.

Did you build it your self or buy it built ?
