Hello,

just thought I'd say that.

Second post on here, I've been reading through the posts on here doing a bit of research before taking (or not) the plunge into Blackbird ownership.

I currently ride a 650 VStrom, which I bought to replace a ZZR600, thinking that I was getting too old to be enjoying all that rapid acceleration and induction roar, and that what I needed was something a bit more sensible that just sounded nice.

After a year of being sensible I have realised I'm missing that rush, I need that drug again, and remembering a ride on a mates Bird (nnnnoooooo, not her, his bike) a few years ago thought an 1100XX might give me my fix.

Just a few things bother me about the Bird, looking on here shows they can nearly all be fixed, I ride at night (shift worker) and the headlight's not known for it's brilliance, I'm a bit on the short side (though I manage the VStrom) and they don't make them any more (my VStrom's an '11 reg bike, the newest Bird I've seen is an '08 plate bike up in Newcastle so will still be 3 or 4 years older than my bike), so I could end up paying for something that's older, but that's just a mental block, not a real problem if the bike's clean.

And then there's the amount of 'bling' I'll need to buy for it 8rfl@

Welcome oddbob

I just noticed no-one has answered your post. I suggest you post in either the help section or general coffee shop where most peeps hang out.
I have a 29 inch inside leg and had no problem with ride height. The blackbird has crap lights but a hid conversion (cheap and easy) solves that issue. Once the leccies have been sorted (loomfix) the bbird is a reliable ride with much going for it. JAWS will enjoy emptying your wallet to provide enough bling to blind a chav!8rfl@

I wouldn't worry about the age or milage of a Bird, as long as its been looked after. You could save yourself a lot of cash to pass on to JAWS 8rfl@

Guessing this is the place for intro's!

Hello everybody put a deposit on a Blackbird last week and just need to sell my Ninja so I can give the lad who is a friend of the family the rest of his money for it! Its a 1998 Blackbird with the only upgrade from what I can tell is raised handlebars from an X11! Already bought carbon fibre exhausts and a carbon fibre fender extenda! @tu*
Now need the Ninja to sell I know its the wrong time of the year for selling but not willing to let it go for nowt! Anyway I live in Leagrave I work in central London and on my days off I'm back home with my family in Middlesbrough.
My bike history is as follows -
Honda NSR125 Super Sprint which I bought brand new and was a great little bike!
Honda CBF600 which I hated very heavy and handled crap! Got stolen and replaced it with
Suzuki SV650S which I loved for the 3 and a half years I owned it then had a break from bikes and ended up buying a
Gillera Runner 180 which was aweful and a low point in my biking life!
Kawaski Ninja ZX6R G2 which I love and is awesome fun but has to go to make way for my first Blackbird! @tu*

Hello everybody my days off I'm back home with my family in Middlesbrough.
@tu*

Welcome to the nut house ..... :neenaw:

You seem to get about a bit ... its a long drag riding from the Boro to London (and back) on your bike up the M1 ........ an easy trip but very dull and boring !

And as a fellow Boro lad, It will not matter what colour the bike is OR if its Inj or Carb .... it will completely depend on where you are in the Boro will determine how fast your bike will go ....

I obviously dont mean 'top speed'.... I mean 'GO' as in 'VANISH', disappear from under your nose, Get knicked etc etc .......

re banter etc etc ..... Watch out for a goddess offering sweets / dont take offence easily / dont take insults personally....
Its all in good hearted humour .... we are only human (except the odd one or two who clearly aren't ... and the odd one or two who think they are Gods gift etc etc )
and without the odd little dig, poke or prod, playful banter, arguement, lovers tiff, ......the world can be a dull and miserable place ..!
But then again you will know already as your a Boro lad ! 8rfl@

WELCOME
w;;v

PS First tip .... you may get more respopnse from a new thread .... but slipping a sly one in to the new members bit is a good start

Will do just didn't want to upset the forum gods by putting an introduction in the wrong place! @tu*
Teesside was last time I looked the third worst place for bike thefts behind Central London and Greater London and considering there are really not that many bikes in Teesside that is horrendous! Bought My Ninja in Newcastle and its never been back up North since! Got an old sticker bombed diesel cavalier for that job! Currently with only one headlamp after nextdoors cars handbrake (electronic version!) failed and it rolled into it and obliterated the headlamp, indicator and grille! :bang: But cant wait to get on my new bike! Now off to cut and paste my intro into a new thread! Cheers for the heads up! @tu*
