I've used a couple of ally bushes in my pegs to take the Suzuki pins, that way i can simply swap back to original pegs if i shrink.

Yeah, Like that's gonna happen:rolleyes:

Seriously though, I'm on the look out for a Paneuropean as I cant sit comfortably on a Bird at the minute. Might just be the answer:yo:

Will these lower pegs fit the pillion mounts (B/bird) or will the exhaust be in the way?

Here's a set of pegs i've just bought to fit the BUSA..

The pegs are nearly 2" lower than the standard knee crippling ones fitted. So many people shy away from these bikes because of the riding position, its a ?35 fix.

Part numbers are NO521.1AD & NO520.1AD......they come from a BUELL XBS and they are almost a straight fit barr a touch of filing underneath and an ally bush being turned up.
I believe they are the same as Rolfy has on his BIRD, so all those with Joint problems who wish to lower their pegs a fraction you'de be mad not to give these a try first.

Stockport Harley Davidson got me a pair within 3 days
eeer Rhino .. do you mind if i repost this on ukbusas.org ... ??? i know one or two would be interested in this ..

Not at all............infact they do need slight modding, if they are interested i can supply them ready to fit or do the full fit if they bring the bike to me.

DIDN'T KNOW ABOUT UK BUSA c7u8

NB: had a bit of a shock yesterday I took it for granted that my new to me Bird would be fine for some long haul touring in stock trim...
went on a 200 mile trip and found that I was wrong.. stock screen is a killer at 70 or above.. pegs feel very high after about 40 miles with my bum knees and I really suffered on the trip..

Going the whole Hog and hope that it sorts me out ..MRA vario screen.. Bar raisers from John and some Buell pegs.. fingers crossed that it sorts me out because I really like the bird but if I cant get it comfortable for touring which is what I bought it for then ..c7u8

I had a similar problem, cured it by buying gypsy's viper seat, very comfy.

Neil...

Re our phone conversation a few weeks back, i'm struggling to find out any info for you.
Secondly, the Pan Euro is a ST1100 with 22k in immaculate condition.
I have the mobile number for the vendor at work and i'll get more details tonight.

Hey Rolfy,

This footpeg mod has also reached the Netherlands, and since my left knee behaves as if I was 100 years old, I am very interested.

My English is not that good that I totally understand what you had to do to fit the Buell onces :dunno:

When you say "I also have just sleeved the pegs so that the origional pins are used" could you explain a bit more what you had to "sleeve" besides the Hero pins :-:

Would be very interested in some detail pics as well !

Thnx in advance and cheers from Holland

Hi ReeFeR,

Good to hear the mod has reached Holland... I used it for the first ime when I went to the German Treffen last June.. No cramps or pains in the back or legs... Result

Firstly... If you get the Buell footpegs, take the hero blobs of the bottom. That will give you a bit more ground clearance.

Secondly, the mounting holes in the Buel footpegs are larger than the ones in the Honda pegs, so you will need a short length of tubing to "sleeve" the small pin to the diameter of the Buell peg... Then you can use the origional pin rather than drill the mounting out on the bike...Thus, when you sel the bike you can replace the origional footpeg for the new owner, and sell the Buell ones to get your money back...:-:

Hope that is of help to you..

Best wishes,

Rolfy

ps.. If you happen to see Arnold... Please pass on our best wishes from Jan & myself.

Sorry mate, mine are installed on the bike, and with the arm in its present condition its a bit difficult to strip down...:xm

Internal diameter will be the same as the pin already in the Honda.
Length will be the same as the width of the Honda footpeg mounting point.
Outside diameter will be whatever the mounting hole on the Buell pegs is...

Sorry to be so vague, but mine was done by "touchy feely" technique..

Cheers,

Rolfy

As a matter of interest, Rolfy, What did you use to sleeve the pegs?
Rubber tubing?:dunno: and how did you "fine tune it"?

If this lowers them enough I just might get a bird again soon:bow:

If not I'm off to join the "Pan Clan"

A wee piece of round ally bar drilled to accomodate the pin and lathed down to size.
