Quite right..........the part number i quoted on page 1 is the number on the box....
Yep you did Rhino m8, but when I was at the dealers they were quoting the NO520 and NO521 as they were all the same.. but as we know, they aint..
they tried to palm me off with a set of NO520-0AB and NO521-0AB telling me that they were the same...if it wasnt for seeing your pic I would have come away with them ... just wanted to make sure that peeps who want a set in the future to make sure they quote the full part number as you wrote it and not to come away with anything else...

didnt explain myself properly, sorry mate

Just wondering...I tend to ride distance with the balls of my feet on the pegs, old habit...Looking at your picture, what's the chance I would melt my Daytona's to the exhaust pipe with these lowered pegs? :dunno:

Take it it's possible to fit these to lower the pegs for the pillion as well, mine are OK but the pillions tend to complain a bit on long trips. :violin:

JONO, yes they will fit the pillion.

I ride with the balls of my feet on the pegs as you get more feedback and my boots are no where near the pipes due to the angle your foot is at.

To those that have already fitted them, would you envisage a problem with the pillion ones and the exhaust, i.e. would they touch? h1d1ng2

Hiya Jono,

you will have to do a bit of re-shaping with the file on the pillion set up. I filed mine so they were 1/8" clear and they still touch when Lainey is getting on and off the bike. Not a massive problem though.

I cut the side stand pin off alltogether, you can still put the stand down in the normal way no probs..
If you look at the top of the stand you can see the spot where it hits the frame/stop.. I just put a blob of weld on it and gently filed it back untill it just cleared the peg .. I allso had to cut about 10mm off the rear brake adjuster shaft (threaded bar with saddle bracket on the end) to allow me to adjust the rear brake far enough..
all is good now and Im happy with the set up..

If you need any help m8 that coffee sounds a good Idea :)

I've just sucessfully completed fitting the Buell pegs thanks to following all your instuctions and advice. They cost me ?41.24 per pair.

To give my left size 9 boot room to operate the gear lever I too had to remove the lug that sticks out. Initially my side stand hit the underside of the peg, by undoing the two socket headed bolts holding the side stand to the bike I was able to lower it enough within the bolt hole clearance to miss the peg.

To obtain a lower rear brake pedal position I also found it necessary to remove about 6mm from the brake cylinder piston rod and reassembled the unit without fitting the lock nut. To gain access to the brake cylinder I removed the foot rest assembly and then removed the cylinder from the assembly. Once the piston rod was accessible I used an angle grinder to shorten the rod. I had a helper to hold the unit. I screwed the clevis as far up the thread as possible until tight before reassembling.

To ensure full footbrake pedal movement I found it was necessary to remove material from the forward inner corner/edge of the footpeg.

I also ride a vfr800 2000yr which has 19mm bar risers and a melboy custom seat which is raised 1 inch above standard. I have riden 20000 miles in that set up including motorways in France.

Last August I purchased the Blackbird to replace the Vfr but on measuring the distance from pegs to seat height the blackbird was 2 inches less at the front and 4 inches for the pillion. The Blackbird came fitted with 19mm bar risers. I did 3 rides of about 200 miles and some local 50 mile trips before fitting the Buell pegs. I have only ridden the new set up for approx 40 miles and the improvement is immediately noticeable.

The Vfr custom seat is slightly softer than the Blackbirds gel inserts which were fitted by the previous owner and are firmer. My riding position on both bikes are now similar.

I find the Blackbird to be a smooth Vfr but I enjoy the Vfr more because it is more involving to ride. The aerodynamics of the Blackbird means we can do our higher speed euro trips with ease and the helmet roar is greatly reduced.
The Vfr has a MRA double bubble the Blackbird is standard.

My wife has asked me to lower the pillion pegs but I dont think it will gain much because the exhaust pipes seem to be in the way.

Perhaps I should have asked for a discount, but I am not complaining.
