They've been ordered by the courts to vacate but are refusing to go, Basildon council have spent over ?100,000 in legal costs & there is the added cost of removing the caravans & cleaning up the site & then returning it to green belt.
They are talking about storing the caravans for the pikeys to collect, fuck that, sell the caravans back to them to pay for the legal costs & clear up operation.

Why don't the likes of Vanessa Redgrave and Joan Bakewell - who tell us the travellers are so wonderful - put them up on their land? Also, if they call themselves "travellers", why are they so averse to moving on????

do they pay council tax to live there or tax on their "earnings"?
hundreds of kids growing up to live in their own caravans throwing their rubbish all over the land.
send them back to where they came from.

when the police get involved there will be a riot, then rovinghawk will have his opinion i am sure!

They don't pay tax nor do they pay council tax.

Apparently, they don't pay for their gas or electricity either. A guy on the news was saying yesterday that they just tap into the respective grids and effectively steal the power.

Shoot the fuckers, end of. Fuckin' scum. :shooter:

Our local councill spent a bloody fortune on legal fees to move on a village of scum from a building site they'd taken over. The only problem for the council was the fact they'd entrusted the legal doc's to a fuckwit who didnt cross the T's and dot the I's. On the day of eviction the scum waited till the police arrived to enforce it, then calmy packed up and moved to the other side of the road. One of their clan had read the eviction notice and spotted the flaw in the wording.
Unfortunatly for them the local farmer had a bit more between his legs and he took the matter into his own hands and covered the field they were camped in with liquid cow shit.
They weren't there long :-0)

Actually it used to be a scrap yard so not sure how it is greenbelt.

For me, ok they own it. Stick a caravan on it, fine, but they've actually built houses which is what the problem really is. No planning permission. They do it all the time using their ethnic minority status to get retrospective planning permission and massively inflate the price of the land.

However, I'd rather they were on land they owned than parked up on the local playing fields before leaving it full of rubbish a few weeks later.

They have extended onto the greenbelt

Not as simple as that, I own two fields & I put a caravan in one of them so that Bev had somewhere dry to stay while she waited for the farrier or the vet, within a week we had a letter from the council telling us to move it as we didn't have planning permission, I argued that I owned the land & therefore was entitled to put a caravan on it, I was informed that as the land was not my home I couldn't, apparently I could put a motorhome on it but not a caravan :bang:

Sure that's true but would you prefer them to take over your fields or be on their own land?

Is it their own land? I have had to buy my fields, on the outskirts of Bradford is a place called Tong where pikey's have been given land.
If any of my horses need a vet I have to pay massively inflated prices, the pikeys at Tong get regular visits from the vet which is paid for by the tax payer.
If any of my horses need a rug or fly sheet then it will cost me anything up to about ?70, Pikey's at tong get theirs free.

So how about I come & stick my caravan on a village greenbelt near you & claim traveller status? maybe they will give me the land.

Derek.... stop being a pillock.

We're talking about Dale Farm. They own the land. They've admited if they are kicked off they'll move 50 yard down the road.

No they don't have planning permission but again, I'm more inclined to say actual mobile homes only (no building) and then less grief than I am for them to be on the playing fields where my wee boy wants to play.

Pikey's (or Tinkers as we used to call them) are like wasps and nettles....
They're both evolutionary dead-ends that serve no purpose other than to f*ck up the countryside. We'd all be better off without them...

Personally I think Dale Farm should be used as a live fire training ground... :shooter:

I live within a mile of Dale farm and they have just applied for planning on land adjacent to their current site.
The council must carry part of the blame for this fiasco, it started ten years ago and they should have closed the site down then.
Yes the site is owned by some of the residence, and they have the right to reside upon the land and pay their taxes & bills.
It?s the travelers that stopped traveling that have caused the issue and yes they do tap into the grid and we suffer from power cuts when they fry the sub station.
They have no sewers so all the waste is emptied into the hedge rows.<O:p</O:p
They pay no car tax and claim the cars are insured abroad, I know of no country that allows children to be insured and hurtle down country lanes in the likes of high powered BMW's or Merc's.
We live on green belt land and my neighbor has been declined planning permission to put a 12ft single floor extension on his kitchen when we have this sprawling metropolis less than a mile away.
The latest news is that professional protesters are to join in the fight.
How can you become a professional protester is there a college coarse to attend???

That?s my rant over<O:p</O:p

Re-read my previous post, I have bought my land out of savings that I've worked for, have they bought the land or have they been given it by the council to keep them quiet?
They have extended onto the greenbelt land possibly where someones wee child might want to play.

It started off with a few homes now there are over 400 that's why they've claimed the greenbelt land.
They are vermin & as such should be eradicated, if you live in society then live by society rules, if you want to travel then join the fucking caravan & camping club.

Sound's like your Council is on the ball Derek. The biggest fook up at Dale farm is the Council failed to nip it in the bud. For all your Council new you could have easily been a Gypsy.
