Yesterday I insulated some pipes in the attic, viewed a property, had a bacon sandwich for lunch and made a coconut and chocolate marble cake before turning in.

We would make a great team.........

Actually it would be a good match

Goth would give a blow by blow pictorial story of the projects she is involved with, and andy would look at the pictures, say I don't need professionals, try doing it himself then go on a forum that has no relation to the work and ask for advice 8rfl@

I've never built a bitza, I see you mention the sva, how do they decide the year to register it at given the many different parts? What year would they register this bike as?

It'll either end up on a Q plate or a new one.

To qualify for a new plate you have to prove that everything is new, you are allowed one major reconditioned item, which would be the engine.

I expect I might just be able to swing the new plate, if not, it's no big deal if it gets a Q.

I'm looking forward to seeing what this bike looks like when it's done. Sadly, I could never, not in a million years, own something like a one off. I'd shit my pants if it went wrong 'cos I wouldn't know how or where to take it to get it done. I can't even change a light bulb without adult supervision. Absolutely useless, me.

Funny enough I know 2 other professional bike builders who are women, and I have quite a few fellow professional engineers who are. We're still a minority though... Still a very misogynistic/sexist profession...

I'm hoping to finish it in the next couple of months. Just need to do the paint, which I want to get done before the weather gets too cold. Just need to get a couple of other things out of the way.

Customs are insurable (remarkably cheaply) so it's not that much of a big deal.....

It don't surprise me that a woman can turn out such a well thought out bike in the slightest, one of the best engineers/bike builders I know is female @tu*

I think I've sussed your secret.

If you look closely at the pic of you and your Bird, the lettering on the bike is back to front.

Clearly you are in fact from a parallel universe where everything is back to front and women know stuff and men don't.
Those of us who are awestruck by your superior mechanicing skills can all rest easy knowing that you will soon return to that world and leave us saddo's to polish our Birds in peace. :-0)

Obviously AndyBirdless will be heart broken but, hey....we can live with that. 8rfl@
