For ?9000 keep the Bird just as it is but add some nice goodies as standard, a bit of bling or prepurchase options at no extra cost, for example........

OHLINS all round, forks and shocks,
HID lights,

Touring seat maybe,
Hugger,
Risers and Preload Adj

you get the picture

..can I opt for an ajustable seat height please, and do it before I decide to buy a new fazer 1000...

Bring the styling up to date.
Incorporate the rear winkers in the body work.
Rear fog light.
A shaft drive with out losing any performance.
It's not as bad as most but corrosion protection could be improved.
Lighter (go's with out saying) ''not fag'' well one might be handy :dunno:
Grab bars to the sides but not to low down.
Rubber pegs for pillion.
Increase in service intervals.

All sounds a bit sensible 'I know' but if I wanted a sports bike I'd get an R1 etc, or if wanted a touring bike a Pan etc, other wise it's still the bike for me.

Carbs or Bird improvments

Briefly Carb's wont pass the latest/proposed emissions requirements, where as an injector can be controlled by the use of sensors. As to the previous post what can Honda do to improve the bird.
Anti rust/anti corrosion nuts and bolts and fasteners - stainless or titanium. They will probably change the exhaust to an underseat unit... ala most sports bikes, no underseat storage then. Single sided swinging arm - maybe, Could do a under engine/tucked in exhaust to tidy up your arse end. Bring it out in a new colour or apply some more stick on vinyl to make different. Make the engine more complicated so you have to take it to a honda dealer for servicing. (shall stick with the one I've got then). Make it more expensive. Copy the 'progress' of other manufacturers. Might fit a hugger as standard. Could change the suspension front and rear. Fit air conditioning. Make it lighter. Just hope they carry on with the 'old' model as well.. but I doubt it

I have just heard - source unknown - that the BB will be V'tec (yep I know that this rumour has been said before)... it appears that thay have the V'tec sorted out now... ie its not like an on/off switch.

I shall have to look elsewhere.. or stick with an old un. Personally I do not see the need for excess V'tec complication.

Yes the BB needs an upgrade but not a down grade - the V'tec has been with us for over 10 years in a cage format, that put peeps off, as did the VFR in V'tec... so If they do it to a BB they must be NUTS.

If they want to retain its sports tour market, then they should make it for that market... if they want to follow the Kwak and go for speed... make a fecking 1.6 ltr sports bike.
