I'm fairly sure there is a layby at or close to Heversham on the small section of dual carriageway, I just can't quite remember the exact location......probably as a result of my time in Holland last week!

I'll be in the general area this week at some point so I'll check it out and post a map with the layby and some alternative meeting points just in case.

Meeting place for Sunday

Executive decision made! This is the meeting place for people coming for the Sunday section of the ride (see Clive's post below).

Gilpin Bridge - just off the A590.

The A590 is the main road to Barrow in Furness.

Frontierland doesn't exist any longer, it closed down a few years ago rather like the rest of Morecambe :} Oh, and it was knocked down (Frontierland that is!) so dont try to use it as a landmark!

Fast sections will be ridden 'fast' even as a group.......So, for newbies or anybody wondering if they would like to join us then please note this because we don't want to have the whole ride held back, and we certainly don't want any riders put under pressure to ride faster than they're happy with.

I was hoping to try and do the Sunday run but I am having second thoughts now. Sack this for a game of cards, I'de like to keep me license and stay in one piece for now. I will bow out :bow:

Bugger the cards I got a paper cut last time I played :}

I cherish my (clean) licence as much as any and prolly more than some as it is my alternative means of making a living should I give my boss the sack and as for the falling off bit I am alergic to that as I break out in cuts and bruises :}

Having said all that I'll be joining the the ride and will be riding at my pace whatever that may be, given the conditions, weather, precence of Plod whatever.

I had a stonking day out with the Cloggers last time I was up that way if you want to ride fast stay at the tail end, if you want to take it a little slower try the middle of the pack if you want something aproaching sanity try up front, like water, the pace will find its own level.

Depends on where 'exactly' ...............you put your pace.

This does not mean that we'll be hitting 180mph all the time but it does mean that bends will be taken optimally

nuff said.

Less like Valentino Rossi and more like Francis Rossi I reckon :} :} :}

I'm not exactly the Knee slider type, as a matter of fact I don't even have any, never touched my hero blobs or fairing lowers and I'd be more than happy to share whatever pace you were comfortable with if you wanted to give it a go.

Don't worry, be happy

Madhouse ,
don't be put off. Were not talking about a balls out thrash from one stop to another. What we are talking about is riding at a good pace, with possible speeds of 70 mph on the straights, and even overtaking the odd car as and when its safe!!! What we are not talking about is sitting behind cars at 40 mph on long stretches of road and not over taking, even when nothing is coming.

One last point, Fat Bert is coming, don't worry you can't possibly be any slower than him!!!!

See ya in Scarborough if not before

All will be well madhouse, trust me :eek: . Think about it m8, there are quite a few people who will be two up so there will be no dramatic riding going on. I suspect Clive will PM you with some further info...........

Errrr Fodder mate............ have you been out with Rhino and his missus lately? :bow: And an very competant & capable rider he is to :bow: :bow:

I have , when it was pissing down mate, sends a shiver down me spine even thinking about if the bloody sun was out......... :}

I take your point, I don't consider myself a slug but........... If you don't know the roads it can get hairy at times. All due respect to Clive but the words "180 MPH" and "we don't want to have the whole ride held back" in the same paragraph sound hairy enough to me. Like I say I am no slug, or a dodering old fart (or at least I don't think so), after all have you ever tried to ride a Blackbird slow? but I aint no balls out rider either... But.......my riding has slowed somwhat over the last few years. I just don't want to end up following someone in the far distance in an area I don't know.

Not complaining here, just wondering if its for me. :dunno:
